MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,643 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 305 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an F-35C Lightning, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EEEI Ämari Air Base. This process took approximately 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 24, with a takeoff distance of 965 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 216 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 22°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 270°. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile northeast of Padise, Estonia, where the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,118 feet above sea level to 34,724 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,607 feet in just 6 minutes, covering a distance of 32 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 13 miles northwest of EEVO Vormsi Airfield on Vormsi Island, Estonia. This phase lasted for 42 minutes and covered a distance of 389 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 8 miles northeast of EKLS Læsø Airport on Læsø, Denmark, where the aircraft descended from 34,719 feet above sea level to 1,337 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,383 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26R at EKYT Aalborg Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 266.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 26R was successful, with a touchdown distance of 306 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 128 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -323 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 270°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots. The total landing distance was 943 meters, which accounted for 36% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 470 nautical miles and lasted for 61 minutes, using 1,542 kilograms of fuel.
The F-35C Lightning aircraft successfully landed at EKYT Aalborg Airport, achieving a high score of 98.6%. The final approach to runway 26R was conducted from the east, heading 266.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 153 knots. This indicates that the pilot maintained control and managed the aircraft's speed effectively during the approach. The touchdown distance of 306 meters was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating the pilot's ability to navigate the aircraft safely onto the runway.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 128 knots, which is considered good. The touchdown rate of -323 feet per minute was firm, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained a stable and aligned approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from 270°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the approach.
The total landing distance of 943 meters was 36% of the runway length, indicating a safe and controlled landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the rollout phase.
Overall, the F-35C Lightning's landing at EKYT Aalborg Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
