Improve the rollout
Ground control varies with speed, full authority at walking pace, progressively reducing as groundspeed rises. The aircraft becomes twitchy at any speed, every small pedal input swings the nose, which can encourage large-amplitude leg inputs that no real aircraft would accept.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,341 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 199 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The pre-flight preparations began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 26 at the Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (LICC) in Catania, Sicily, Italy.
The takeoff distance was 1,042 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 182 knots, with a local temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 270°. The crosswind component was negligible, while the headwind component was 4 knots.
Following takeoff, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile west of the Catania-Fontanarossa Airport. The climb took 15 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,113 feet above sea level to 28,937 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,824 feet. The aircraft covered a distance of 68 nautical miles during this phase.
The enroute level cruise started 48 miles east of Siracusa, Sicily, and lasted for 49 minutes, covering a distance of 432 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 28,947 feet to 32,883 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,936 feet, in just 3 minutes, while covering a distance of 31 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued its enroute level cruise, starting 83 miles south of Kamilari, Crete, Greece, and lasting for 20 minutes, covering a distance of 181 nautical miles. Another climb phase followed, during which the aircraft ascended from 33,045 feet to 34,669 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,625 feet, in 2 minutes, while covering a distance of 15 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then resumed, starting 13 miles south-east of the Marsa Matruh International Airport in Egypt, and lasted for 190 minutes, covering a distance of 1,590 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 34,934 feet to 35,683 feet above sea level, an increase of 749 feet, in 2 minutes, while covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise continued, starting 7 miles south-east of the Egal International Airport in Hargeisa, Somalia, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 44 nautical miles. Another climb phase followed, during which the aircraft ascended from 35,897 feet to 36,683 feet above sea level, an increase of 786 feet, in 2 minutes, while covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then resumed, starting 46 miles south of Oodweyne, Somalia, and lasted for 111 minutes, covering a distance of 899 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 68 miles north-west of the Bird Island Airport in the Seychelles, and lasted for 21 minutes, during which the aircraft descended from 36,923 feet to 871 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,052 feet.
The final approach to runway 13 at the Seychelles International Airport was made from the north-west, with a heading of 125.0°, at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 851 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 131 knots and a touchdown distance of 198 meters.
The total landing distance was 1,141 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length. However
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at FSIA Seychelles International Airport, achieving a score of 91.7%. The final approach to runway 13 was initiated from the north-west, heading 125.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 851 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach speed and threshold height were both satisfactory, with a threshold speed of 135 knots and a good touchdown distance of 198 meters.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was 131 knots, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown rate was slightly below average at -212 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a slightly longer deceleration period. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 18.0 meters from the centreline, which may have contributed to the subsequent rollout alignment issues.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 31°C and a gentle headwind of 4 knots from a direction of 120°. The crosswind component was negligible, with a speed of 0 knots. The total landing distance of 1,141 meters was within 49% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
Despite the satisfactory touchdown and landing distance, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 17.3 meters from the centreline. This may have been a result of the initial touchdown position being off-centre, which can make it more challenging to maintain alignment during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered good, but with some room for improvement in terms of touchdown position and rollout alignment.
