Improve the touchdown
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.

The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxi-out from the parking area to runway 04R at KEWR Newark Liberty International Airport. Taxiing covered approximately 1 nm and required 7 minutes.
During the departure roll on runway 04R, the Boeing 737-900 used 5,410 ft of runway, representing 61 % of the available length, and lifted off at 164 kt. Ambient conditions were 63 °F with a wind of 6 kt from 020°, including a 1 kt crosswind component and a 6 kt headwind.
Climb commenced about 1 mile southeast of Newark, with the aircraft ascending from 1,049 ft asl to 33,975 ft asl, a gain of 32,925 ft achieved in 19 minutes while covering 123 nm.
Level cruise started 6 miles south of the Dave’s Aerodrome (7NJ9) and continued for 83 minutes, during which the aircraft traveled 652 nm.
Descent began 9 miles north of Lake Butler, Florida, with the aircraft descending from 33,959 ft asl to 1,533 ft asl, a loss of 32,425 ft over 29 minutes and a distance of 153 nm.
The final approach to runway 01R at KTPA Tampa International Airport involved a descent from 1,520 ft agl to 90 ft agl in 95 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 01R was executed with a runway length of 8,302 ft; the threshold height of 55 ft agl was slightly above target and the threshold speed was recorded at 149 kt. Touchdown occurred 989 ft down the runway at 144 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 585 fpm, and alignment was perfect. Local weather reported a temperature of 72 °F, wind 5 kt from 041°, a 3 kt crosswind and a 4 kt headwind.
Rollout covered a total landing distance of 4,376 ft, equivalent to 53 % of the runway, and the runway rollout alignment remained perfect.
Taxi-in from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nm.
In summary, the flight covered 937 nm, took 142 minutes, and consumed 14,602 lb of fuel.
The Boeing 737-900 approached runway 01R at KTPA Tampa International Airport in a stabilised configuration, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits as assessed at the 1,000 ft gate. The aircraft descended from 1,520 ft AGL to 90 ft AGL in 95 seconds and earned points for meeting the stabilisation gates.
At the threshold the aircraft was slightly high, with the threshold height measured at 55 ft AGL, and the threshold speed was good at 149 kt. The flare transitioned to touchdown with a distance of 989 ft from the threshold, which was judged good.
Touchdown occurred with a speed of 144 kt, noted as a little fast, and a very hard vertical rate of minus 585 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
Rollout alignment remained perfect, and the aircraft used a total landing distance of 4,376 ft, representing 53 % of the 8,302 ft runway. Local weather was 72 °F with wind 5 kt from 41°, including a 3 kt crosswind and a 4 kt headwind.
The score of 94.9 % indicates a strong performance; refining the flare to reduce the touchdown rate and moderating speed slightly below 144 kt will further improve the landing quality.
