Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,726 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,726 m of the 3,602 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 540 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Sarajevo International Airport, LQSA. This process took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 29, with a takeoff distance of 1,096 meters, which accounted for 55% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 149 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 2 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 180 degrees. There was no crosswind or headwind. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of LQSA, and reached a maximum altitude of 34,328 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 89 nautical miles, took 15 minutes and involved an increase in altitude of 31,634 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted 11 minutes and covered a distance of 73 nautical miles. This phase began 7 miles southwest of Gornji Varos, Croatia. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began overhead Kapela Kalnicka, Croatia. This descent, which covered a distance of 111 nautical miles, took 28 minutes and involved a decrease in altitude of 32,088 feet.
The final approach to runway 34 at Vienna International Airport, LOWW, was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 344.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 34, which had a length of 3,602 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 143 knots.
The touchdown point was 125 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 135 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was excellent at -66 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.1 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 310 degrees. There was a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,646 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 11.1 meters. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, which took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 282 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 63 minutes. The aircraft used 2,360 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Vienna International Airport (LOWW) on runway 34, achieving a score of 95.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 344.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 3,602 meters, and the threshold height was reported as good.
During the final approach, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 143 knots, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing conditions. However, the touchdown point was 125 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may have been due to the aircraft's speed being a little fast at 135 knots. The touchdown rate of -66 feet per minute (fpm) was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 6°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots from 310°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions were favorable for the landing, allowing the aircraft to maintain a stable approach and touchdown.
The total landing distance of 1,646 meters was 46% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the aircraft's speed or control inputs during the final approach. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 11.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the aircraft's speed or control inputs during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to maintain a high level of control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases. However, there were some minor deviations from the optimal landing conditions, which may have been due to a combination of factors including the aircraft's speed, control inputs, and weather conditions.
