Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,778 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,778 m of the 3,990 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 845 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LUKK Chişinău International Airport. This process took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 08, and the takeoff distance was 882 meters, which is 25% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of -1 °C and wind speeds of 6 knots at 19°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. After departure, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting overhead Singera in Moldova. The climb took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 105 nautical miles, with the aircraft ascending from 1,327 feet above sea level to 38,528 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,201 feet.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting overhead Draganesti in Romania. This phase lasted for 90 minutes and covered a distance of 641 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile south of Ansbach in Germany. The descent took 25 minutes and covered a distance of 94 nautical miles, with the aircraft descending from 38,197 feet above sea level to 1,714 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,483 feet.
The final approach to runway 07C at EDDF Frankfurt Airport was made from the southwest, with the aircraft heading 73.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,365 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 07C, which has a length of 3,990 meters. The threshold height was significantly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 128 knots. The touchdown point was 424 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 120 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -142 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 6 °C and wind speeds of 3 knots at 50°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,692 meters, which is 42% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 848 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 144 minutes. The aircraft used 4,842 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed on runway 07C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) with a score of 83.0%. The final approach was initiated from the southwest, heading 73.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,365 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 120 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate was also smooth, at -142 feet per minute (fpm). However, the threshold height at 84 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing configuration.
The landing distance of 1,692 meters was 42% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.3 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the slightly misaligned runway rollout alignment of 10.7 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 6°C and a wind speed of 3 knots at 50°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth touchdown and landing distance.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing configuration. The aircraft's score of 83.0% indicates a good performance, but there is room for improvement in terms of precision and alignment.
