MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,519 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,043 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was a Vision Jet aircraft that departed from Adelaide International Airport (YPAD) and headed towards Ayers Rock Connellan Airport (YAYE). The taxiing process from the parking to the runway took approximately 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 05, with a takeoff distance of 2,137 feet, which accounted for 22% of the runway. The liftoff speed was recorded at 104 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 80°F temperature and a wind speed of 17 knots at 60°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Westrichmond, and climbed from 1,025 feet above sea level to 20,122 feet, an increase of 19,097 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 6 miles south-west of Ardrossan Airport and lasted for 120 minutes, covering a distance of 598 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 12 miles south-east of Mulga Park Airport, and descended from 20,745 feet above sea level to 3,456 feet, a decrease of 17,289 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 31 at YAYE Ayers Rock Connellan Airport was made from the south-east, with a heading of 308.0° at 3 nautical miles and 1,834 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 31, which had a length of 8,519 feet. The threshold height was significantly above the target, while the threshold speed was slightly above target at 102 knots.
The touchdown point was 514 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 84 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -215 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 99°F temperature and a wind speed of 14 knots at 120°, with a crosswind component of 2 knots and a tailwind component of 14 knots.
The total landing distance was 3,202 feet, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the taxiing process from the runway to the parking took approximately 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 711 nautical miles, taking 162 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,257 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at YAYE Ayers Rock Connellan Airport, achieving an overall score of 85.0%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south east, heading 308.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,834 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was conducted on runway 31, which has a length of 8,519 feet.
Upon reaching the threshold, the aircraft's height was significantly above the target, indicating a slight delay in the descent. However, the threshold speed was only slightly above the target, suggesting that the pilot maintained control and made adjustments accordingly. The touchdown point was located 514 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight overcorrection or a delay in the touchdown.
The touchdown speed of 84 knots was a little fast, which could have contributed to the aircraft's distance from the touchdown zone. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -215 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, indicating a relatively smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain a stable and aligned approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a high temperature of 99°F and a moderate wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 120°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the tailwind component was 14 knots, which may have affected the aircraft's approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 3,202 feet was 38% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the rollout phase. Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at YAYE Ayers Rock Connellan Airport was successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft throughout the approach and landing phases.
