MY FS FLIGHTS

Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 6,745 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,745 ft of the 9,870 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,829 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, then departed from runway 09 at SVMG Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport, located on the island of Isla Margarita in Venezuela. The takeoff distance was 2,060 feet, which accounted for 21% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 133 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 81 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 66 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it encountered a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 5 knots. The enroute climb started overhead SVMG Del Caribe Santiago Mariño International Airport and continued for 11 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,090 feet above sea level to 28,039 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,949 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 45 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 31 miles north of Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela. This cruise phase lasted for 48 minutes and covered a distance of 356 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 14 miles west of SV01 Venelac, Venezuela. The descent phase lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 49 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 28,014 feet above sea level to 1,879 feet above sea level, a decrease of 26,135 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 6 miles west of Cabimas, Venezuela. This cruise phase lasted for 11 minutes and covered a distance of 12 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 03L at SVMC La Chinita International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 23.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 03L was successful, with the touchdown point being 1,431 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 101 knots, which was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate was fair at -276 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 6 knots at a direction of 16 degrees.
The total landing distance was 6,447 feet, which accounted for 65% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 32 feet from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 9 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 471 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 104 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 8,687 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft successfully landed at La Chinita International Airport, specifically on runway 03L. The final approach was initiated from the south, with a heading of 23.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 109 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 1,431 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 101 knots. This speed was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate was only fair at -276 feet per minute (fpm), suggesting that the aircraft could have been slowed down more efficiently during the landing phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 85°F and a gentle wind of 6 knots from a direction of 16°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 5 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing approach.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 6,447 feet, which accounted for approximately 65% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled and the pilot executed the landing smoothly. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 32 feet from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's trajectory during the landing phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down safely and the pilot maintaining control throughout the landing phase. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown rate and runway rollout alignment.
