Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,394 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 393 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LFML Marseille Provence Airport, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 31R, with a takeoff distance of 1,062 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 14°C temperature and winds of 5 knots at 99°. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the tailwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile northwest of LFML Marseille Provence Airport, Marignane, and involved a significant ascent from 1,047 feet above sea level to 37,004 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,957 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began overhead Chatillon-Saint-Jean, a town in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. This phase lasted for 21 minutes and covered a distance of 148 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 3 miles south of Echenoz-le-Sec, a town in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comte region of France. The descent involved a decrease of 31,803 feet in altitude from 36,998 feet above sea level to 5,195 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 101 nautical miles in 26 minutes.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile north of Weitbruch, a town in the Grand Est region of France. This phase lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile west of Herrlisheim, another town in the Grand Est region of France. The descent involved a decrease of 3,152 feet in altitude from 4,939 feet above sea level to 1,787 feet above sea level, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles in 4 minutes.
The final approach to runway 23 at LFST Strasbourg Airport was made from the northeast, with the aircraft heading 229.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,271 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 23 was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 116 knots, which was slightly faster than the threshold speed of 120 knots. The touchdown distance was 392 meters, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 7°C temperature and winds of 1 knot at 180°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,232 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 370 nautical miles, taking 79 minutes and consuming 2,695 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at LFST Strasbourg Airport, achieving a high score of 99.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 229.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's final approach was well-executed, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 120 knots, which is within the recommended range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 392 meters, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 116 knots was slightly faster than recommended, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force upon touchdown. The touchdown rate of -191 feet per minute (fpm) was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained a stable and aligned approach to the runway. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 7°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 180°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind component.
The total landing distance of 1,232 meters was 51% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and brought it to a stop safely.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and decision-making skills throughout the approach and landing phases. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed, which can be achieved through more precise control of the aircraft's descent and touchdown.
