MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final to bleed speed back to 124 kt before crossing the threshold.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 133 kt, 9 kt above the 124 kt target.
Watch for: Airspeed, targeting 124 kt at the threshold.
See Arrival Landing
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,997 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 390 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from FTTJ N'Djamena International Airport, the Boeing 737-600 began its journey with a smooth taxiing process, taking just 3 minutes to reach the runway. The aircraft then accelerated down runway 05, lifting off at a speed of 139 kt after a takeoff distance of 1,763 meters, which covered 63% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 30 °C, with a gentle wind blowing at 3 kt from a direction of 240 °.
As the aircraft climbed out of N'Djamena, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 40,894 ft after a vertical ascent of 38,938 ft in 39 minutes, covering a distance of 307 nm. The climb phase was followed by a 150-minute level cruise, during which the aircraft maintained a steady altitude and covered a significant distance of 1,187 nm. The enroute descent phase began 36 miles northwest of Gondar, Ethiopia, and lasted 25 minutes, with the aircraft descending from 41,003 ft to 8,934 ft, a decrease of 32,069 ft. The final approach to runway 07 at HHAS Asmara International Airport was executed from the west, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 74.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,231 ft above ground level.
The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 125 kt, slightly above the target speed. The touchdown distance was 390 meters, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 1,038 meters, covering 35% of the runway. Following a quick taxiing process, the aircraft came to a stop in just 1 minute, having covered less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 1,683 nm, and the aircraft used 8,914 kg of fuel during the 220-minute journey.
The Boeing 737-600 touched down on runway 07 at HHAS Asmara International Airport with a high degree of precision, showcasing a well-executed approach. The aircraft descended from an altitude of 1,231 feet above ground level (agl) at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold, aligning itself with the runway centerline at a heading of 74.0 degrees. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that exceeded the target value at 133 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft displayed a slightly fast touchdown speed of 125 knots, but the touchdown distance of 390 meters was within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -158 feet per minute was also satisfactory, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft remaining centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 36 degrees Celsius and a gentle headwind of 2 knots, contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,038 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was highly successful, with a score of 99.9% reflecting the high level of precision and control demonstrated by the pilots.
