Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,735 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 667 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at RKSS Gimpo International Airport took less than a minute, covering a short distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 14R, utilizing 586 meters, or 18% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 61 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 16°C and a light wind of 1 knot from 270°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and tailwind component.
As the aircraft climbed away from RKSS Gimpo International Airport, it transitioned into an enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 3,513 feet above sea level in just 3 minutes while covering 5 nautical miles. The climb was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, with a gain of 2,460 feet. The aircraft then began a series of enroute descents and level cruises, navigating through the surrounding airspace. Notably, the enroute level cruise phase, which started 3 miles north of Anyang-si, lasted for 5 minutes and covered 8 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 15L at RKSW Suwon Airport was initiated from the northwest, with the aircraft descending from 945 feet above ground level to touch down on the runway.
The landing on runway 15L at RKSW Suwon Airport was executed with a touchdown speed of 51 knots, which was within the target range. The touchdown point was 225 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.6 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,309 meters, or 48% of the runway length. The aircraft utilized 3 kilograms of fuel for the entire flight, which covered a total distance of 25 nautical miles and took approximately 19 minutes to complete.
The final approach to runway 15L at RKSW Suwon Airport from the north west was initiated at 2 nm and 945 ft above ground level, heading 145.0°. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 69 ft above ground level, which was above the target. However, the threshold speed of 69 kt was significantly higher than the target, indicating a potential for a longer landing roll.
The aircraft touched down 225 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 51 kt, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -88 fpm was excellent, demonstrating good control and precision during the landing phase. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating a high degree of accuracy in the pilot's control of the aircraft. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and a wind speed of 0 kt at 270°, contributed to a relatively straightforward landing.
The total landing distance of 1,309 m was 48% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.6 m from the centreline, indicating a minor deviation from the desired path. Despite this, the overall performance of the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 86.6%.
