Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,525 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,525 m of the 2,590 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 356 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Memphis International Airport, taking approximately 8 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 36R, with a takeoff distance of 1,685 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 150 knots.
As the aircraft departed, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 23°C and winds of 6 knots at 120 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, while the tailwind was 3 knots. After taking off, the enroute climb began approximately 1 mile north of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,264 feet above sea level to 34,760 feet above sea level, an increase of 33,496 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 101 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 4 miles east of AR55 R.V. Stewart Field in Arkansas, lasting 96 minutes and covering 667 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb approximately 1 mile south of Woodmoor in Colorado, ascending from 35,313 feet above sea level to 36,378 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,065 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 3 miles southwest of Perry Park in Colorado, lasting 40 minutes and covering 876 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent approximately 1 mile northwest of WN76 Bergseth Field in Washington, descending from 36,775 feet above sea level to 1,571 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,204 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34L at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport took place from the south, with the aircraft heading 1.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,137 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 34L took place with a runway length of 2,590 meters, and the threshold height was slightly above the target. The threshold speed was good at 137 knots, while the touchdown distance was good at 358 meters.
The touchdown speed was a little fast at 138 knots, but the touchdown rate was firm at -372 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 19°C and winds of 8 knots at 299 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,449 meters, accounting for 56% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 4 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,685 nautical miles, taking a total of 183 minutes, and the aircraft used 10,595 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 34L at KSEA Seattle–Tacoma International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the south, heading 1.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,137 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed smoothly on the designated runway.
The threshold height at 58 feet agl was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed of 137 knots was well within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 358 meters was also satisfactory, indicating a controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed of 138 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a firm touchdown rate of -372 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a gentle wind of 8 knots at 299°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. These conditions did not appear to pose any significant challenges for the pilot, who successfully managed the aircraft's descent and landing.
The total landing distance of 1,449 meters was 56% of the runway length, indicating a controlled and efficient landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the critical phase of landing. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach, despite a slightly firm touchdown and a slightly fast touchdown speed.
