Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,484 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 152 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. This taxiing process took approximately 9 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 19R, with a takeoff distance of 2,141 feet, which accounted for 18% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was recorded at 104 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Suvarnabhumi Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 89°F and winds of 10 knots at 140°. The crosswind was 8 knots, while the headwind was 6 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,043 feet above sea level to 32,338 feet above sea level, a total increase of 31,295 feet in 24 minutes, covering a distance of 83 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 11 miles south of Chai Badan in Thailand. This phase lasted for 67 minutes and covered a distance of 369 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase started 15 miles east of Sam Neua Airport in Laos, with the aircraft descending from 31,467 feet above sea level to 1,701 feet above sea level, a total decrease of 29,765 feet in 24 minutes, covering a distance of 93 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11L at Noi Bai International Airport in Vietnam was made from the west, with the aircraft heading at 98.0° at an altitude of 1,633 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing on runway 11L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 136 feet and a touchdown speed of 79 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. However, the touchdown rate was heavy at -748 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 56 feet from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 66°F and winds of 7 knots at 40°. The crosswind was 6 knots, while the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,411 feet, which accounted for 13% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 57 feet from the centreline. The taxiing process from the runway to the parking area took approximately 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 554 nautical miles and lasted for 127 minutes, using 834 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed on runway 11L at VVNB Noi Bai International Airport, but with some notable areas for improvement. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 98.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,633 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, but the touchdown speed of 79 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating a potential for a slightly harder landing than necessary.
The touchdown distance of 136 feet was within acceptable limits, but the touchdown rate of -748 feet per minute (fpm) was considered very heavy, suggesting that the aircraft may have been subjected to excessive deceleration forces upon touchdown. Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 56 feet from the centreline, which could have contributed to the heavy touchdown rate and potentially compromised the aircraft's stability during the landing roll.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 66°F and a wind speed of 7 knots at 40°. The crosswind component was 6 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions were not particularly challenging, and the aircraft's performance was not significantly impacted by the wind.
The total landing distance of 1,411 feet was within 13% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 57 feet from the centreline, which could have contributed to the aircraft's instability during the landing roll and potentially compromised the safety of the operation.
Overall, while the Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed on runway 11L at VVNB Noi Bai International Airport, there are several areas for improvement, including reducing the touchdown speed, improving the touchdown rate, and ensuring better alignment with the runway centreline during the landing roll.
