Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,388 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 458 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Heraklion International Nikos Kazantzakis Airport, the Boeing 737-800 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. As it reached the runway threshold, the aircraft initiated its departure roll on runway 27, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 149 knots. The takeoff distance of 1,180 meters accounted for 53% of the available runway length, a testament to the aircraft's efficient performance in the local conditions, which featured a temperature of 24°C and a gentle headwind of 5 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from Heraklion, it began its enroute climb, passing overhead Nea Alikarnassos and ascending to a cruising altitude of 14,568 feet. This climb phase, which lasted 6 minutes and covered 29 nautical miles, saw the aircraft increase its altitude by 13,514 feet. Following a brief level cruise phase, during which the aircraft maintained a steady altitude for 10 minutes and covered 58 nautical miles, the crew initiated the enroute descent, which began 32 miles south of Astypalaia. The descent, which lasted 15 minutes and covered 65 nautical miles, saw the aircraft decrease its altitude by 13,180 feet, ultimately reaching a landing altitude of 1,823 feet.
As the aircraft approached Kos Airport, it began its final approach to runway 32, aligning itself with the runway threshold and descending from an altitude of 1,415 feet above ground level. The landing was executed smoothly, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 135 knots and a touchdown distance of 457 meters, which accounted for 59% of the available runway length. The touchdown rate of -63 feet per minute was particularly impressive, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. Following a short taxiing period, the aircraft came to a stop, having completed a total flight distance of 160 nautical miles and consuming 2,127 kilograms of fuel in the process.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down smoothly on runway 32 at LGKO Kos Airport, showcasing exceptional approach quality. The aircraft descended from 3 nm and 1,415 ft above ground level, aligning itself with the runway heading of 328.0°. The threshold height was well-managed, allowing for a good threshold speed of 141 kt. This controlled descent enabled the aircraft to maintain a touchdown distance of 457 m, which was within the acceptable range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft demonstrated a speed of 135 kt, which was in line with the desired touchdown speed. The touchdown rate of -63 fpm was particularly impressive, indicating a well-executed landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 22 °C and a gentle headwind of 3 kt, contributed to a stable and controlled approach.
The total landing distance of 1,410 m was 59% of the runway length, indicating a well-executed rollout. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was deemed 100.0% successful, with all key performance figures meeting or exceeding the desired standards.
