MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,464 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,464 m of the 3,046 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,151 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777-300 taxied from the parking area to runway 07 at MROC Juan Santamaría International Airport, a movement that required 8 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 07, the aircraft used 2,376 m of runway (79 % of the available length) and lifted off at 190 kt. Ambient conditions were 31 °C with a wind of 20 kt from 090°, providing a 7 kt cross-wind component and an 18 kt head-wind component.
The initial climb commenced 1 mile east of MROC, climbing from 3,788 ft asl to 34,013 ft asl - an increase of 30,225 ft - over 22 minutes while covering 152 nm.
Level cruise began 3 miles north of Bisira (Ngoebe-Bugle, Panama) and continued for 337 minutes, during which the aircraft traversed 2,895 nm.
Descent started 12 miles northwest of São João del Rei, Brazil, descending from 34,087 ft asl to 1,902 ft asl - a loss of 32,184 ft - in 21 minutes and covering 131 nm.
A brief cruise segment was initiated 1 mile south of SBGL Rio Galeão - Tom Jobim International Airport, lasting 2 minutes and spanning 5 nm.
The subsequent climb began 1 mile northeast of SBGL, raising the aircraft from 1,732 ft asl to 7,260 ft asl - an increase of 5,528 ft - in 3 minutes and covering 13 nm.
The following descent originated 6 miles north of Nova Iguaçu, Brazil, dropping from 7,265 ft asl to 1,283 ft asl - a decrease of 5,982 ft - over 5 minutes and covering 16 nm.
For the final approach to runway 15 at SBGL, the aircraft approached from the northwest on a heading of 125.0°, intercepting the approach at 4 nm out and 1,254 ft agl.
Landing on runway 15 was achieved with a threshold speed of 149 kt; touchdown occurred 744 m beyond the touchdown zone at 144 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 162 fpm. The aircraft was misaligned by 23.7 m from the centreline at touchdown. Local weather reported 20 °C, wind 8 kt from 100°, a 3 kt cross-wind component and a 7 kt head-wind component.
Runway rollout covered a total landing distance of 2,392 m (79 % of the runway) and the aircraft’s trajectory remained misaligned by 25.5 m from the centreline during the rollout.
The Boeing 777-300 taxied from the runway to the parking area in 3 minutes, traveling less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered 3,223 nm, required 404 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 61,591 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 777-300 approached runway 15 at SBGL Rio Galeão - Tom Jobim International Airport on a final approach from the north-west, heading 125.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,254 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits. Local weather was 20 °C with wind 8 kt from 100 °, providing a 3 kt crosswind component and a 7 kt headwind.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft maintained a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 149 kt.
Touchdown occurred 744 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 144 kt and a descent rate of minus 162 fpm, both judged good. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 23.7 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 2,392 m, representing 79 % of the 3,046 m runway, and the rollout alignment was misaligned by 25.5 m from the centreline.
Improving centreline alignment on touchdown and maintaining that alignment through rollout will reduce the lateral deviations noted. Focus on precise lateral guidance during the flare and early rollout to bring the aircraft within a tighter corridor of the centreline.
