MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Departure
Lower the nose and add power to raise climb speed to 117 kt.
What happened: Climb speed was 98 kt against a target of 117 kt, running 19 kt slow through the climb.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator against the climb target of 117 kt.
Arrival
Make small rudder corrections against a fixed point at the far end of the runway to hold the centreline.
What happened: You drifted off the centreline on the approach.
Watch for: Runway centreline: tracked all the way to the threshold.
See Arrival Approach
The point is that every knot above it is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast: at a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix for "the plane just wouldn't come down" is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: centreline 1.4° off, against a 1° limit.
At the 500 ft gate: centreline 1.1° off, against a 1° limit and speed 6 kt SLOW on the reference speed of 88 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 11,467 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,298 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cirrus Vision SF50 taxied from the parking area to runway 21 at KABQ Albuquerque International Sunport, a movement that lasted 9 minutes and covered 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 21, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 92 kt and left the ground after traveling 2,339 ft, which represented 23 % of the runway length; ambient temperature was 87 °F with a wind of 13 kt from 200°, including a 5 kt cross-wind component and a 12 kt head-wind.
Climb commenced approximately 1 mile southwest of KABQ, with the aircraft ascending from 5,958 ft asl to 30,009 ft asl, a gain of 24,051 ft achieved in 22 minutes while covering 75 nm.
Level cruise began 9 nm northwest of the 83NM King Ranch Airport (Pie Town) and continued for 25 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 123 nm at cruise altitude.
Descent was initiated 8 nm south of AZ82 Mogollon Airpark Overgaard, with the aircraft descending from 29,987 ft asl to 2,504 ft asl, a loss of 27,483 ft over 22 minutes and a distance of 94 nm.
The final approach to runway 26 at KPHX Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was flown from the east, on a heading of 273.0° at 4 nm and 1,368 ft agl.
Landing on runway 26 was completed with a threshold speed of 78 kt, a touchdown point 865 ft beyond the touchdown zone, a touchdown speed of 68 kt, and a touchdown rate of minus 76 fpm; the total landing distance measured 3,746 ft, equivalent to 33 % of the 11,467-ft runway, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
Runway rollout alignment was reported as very good as the aircraft decelerated and exited the runway.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 300 nm, required 83 minutes of flight time, and consumed 520 lb of fuel.
The Cirrus Vision SF50 executed a final approach to runway 26 at KPHX Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from the east, tracking a heading of 273.0° at 4 nm and 1,368 ft above ground level. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
At threshold the aircraft established a speed of 78 kt, noted as slightly below the target, and the threshold height was good. Ambient temperature was 102 °F.
Touchdown occurred 865 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 68 kt, described as good, and a vertical rate of minus 76 fpm, rated excellent. Runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The total landing distance measured 3,746 ft, representing 33 % of the 11,467-ft runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
To refine performance, target the published threshold speed to eliminate the slight undershoot and aim to touch down nearer the 300-m (1,000-ft) aim point, which will keep the landing distance comfortably within optimal margins.
