Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,987 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,987 ft of the 11,549 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,260 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 15L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport. The takeoff distance was 5,582 feet, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 162 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 92°F and winds of 8 knots at 39°. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the tailwind was 3 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile south of KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport, with the aircraft climbing from 1,127 feet above sea level to 34,034 feet above sea level. This increase of 32,907 feet was achieved in 28 minutes, covering a distance of 188 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began at a latitude of 27.7690533 and a longitude of -92.7559014, lasting for 135 minutes and covering a distance of 1,569 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, the enroute descent started 5 miles east of Uramita, with the aircraft descending from 34,333 feet above sea level to 8,246 feet above sea level. This decrease of 26,087 feet was achieved in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01 at SKRG Jose Maria Córdova International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 360.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,237 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 01 was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 134 knots and a touchdown rate of -164 feet per minute. The touchdown distance was 1,259 feet, which was 50% of the runway length.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 70°F and winds of 3 knots at 19°. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 5,746 feet, which was 50% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, and the taxiing to the parking from the runway took 3 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 1,829 nautical miles, lasting 190 minutes and using 26,842 pounds of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at SKRG Jose Maria Córdova International Airport, showcasing exceptional piloting skills and adherence to standard operating procedures. The final approach to runway 01 from the south, heading 360.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,237 feet above ground level (agl), demonstrated a high level of precision and control.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 141 knots, which is within the acceptable threshold speed range. The touchdown distance of 1,259 feet was also within the expected parameters, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was slightly lower than the threshold speed, but still within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -164 feet per minute (fpm) was well within the desired limits.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 70°F and a gentle headwind of 3 knots at 19°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, which further contributed to the smooth landing. The runway length of 11,549 feet provided ample space for the aircraft to land and roll out, and the aircraft's total landing distance of 5,746 feet, which is 50% of the runway length, is a testament to the pilots' skill and the aircraft's performance.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilots maintained a steady and controlled approach to the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase, ensuring a safe and controlled stop at the end of the runway. Overall, the landing was a textbook example of a well-executed and safe landing, with the pilots demonstrating exceptional skills and adherence to standard operating procedures.
