Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,366 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 624 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Honda HA420 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KTEB Teterboro Airport, taking 16 minutes and covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 01, with a takeoff distance of 714 meters, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 128 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 320°. The crosswind and headwind were both 2 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Little Ferry, New Jersey, and continued to an altitude of 27,967 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,960 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 100 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 1 mile east of Rehrersburg, Pennsylvania, and lasted for 14 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 3 miles southwest of PN35 Flying R Airport Harrisonville, Pennsylvania, and descended from 27,977 feet to 15,565 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,412 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 32 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 3 miles south of Indian Lake, Pennsylvania, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 1 mile east of 7SP Seven Springs, Pennsylvania, and descended from 15,563 feet to 2,384 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,179 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 47 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 32 at KPIT Pittsburgh International Airport took place from the southeast, with a heading of 317.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,594 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 32 took place at a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 3 knots at 320°, with a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The touchdown point was 191 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 82 knots and a touchdown rate of -182 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline, but the runway rollout alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 951 meters, accounting for 40% of the runway. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, taking 8 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 305 nautical miles, taking 71 minutes, and the aircraft used 508 kilograms of fuel.
The Honda HA420 aircraft successfully landed at KPIT Pittsburgh International Airport, achieving a score of 95.4%. The final approach to runway 32 was initiated from the southeast, heading 317.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,594 feet above ground level.
The aircraft demonstrated good control during the landing, with a threshold speed of 108 knots, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown point was 191 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun. However, the touchdown speed of 82 knots was good, and the touchdown rate of -182 feet per minute was also within the acceptable limits.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the slight overrun. Nevertheless, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft's brakes were applied effectively to bring the aircraft to a stop.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from 320°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind component was 3 knots, which may have helped to slow the aircraft down during the landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft demonstrated good control and handling characteristics. However, the slight overrun and misaligned touchdown position may indicate a need for further training or adjustments to the aircraft's approach and landing procedures.
