MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
Pull to 15 degrees at one rate and you get a clean liftoff, pull to the same 15 degrees at twice the rate and you get an overshoot, a push, and an oscillation through the first few hundred feet. The type-general rule of thumb is a rotation rate of about 2 to 3 degrees per second, which means roughly five to seven seconds from starting the pull to reaching the initial climb attitude of around 15 degrees nose-up. Count it out loud during your next takeoff and you will almost certainly discover you have been rotating in two seconds flat.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,190 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 325 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, taking 10 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 12L, with the aircraft lifting off after covering 55% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,326 meters, and the liftoff speed was 147 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of the airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and a wind speed of 7 knots at 35°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of the airport and took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,724 feet above sea level to 36,552 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,827 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 149 nautical miles.
After reaching cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles northeast of La Valle, Wisconsin. This phase lasted for 18 minutes and covered a distance of 508 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 1 mile south of Rivesville, West Virginia. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 37,087 feet above sea level to 180 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,907 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 149 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 177.0° at an altitude of 158 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 2,190 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also good at 137 knots, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 133 knots. The touchdown rate was hard at -417 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 29°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 199°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. The total landing distance was 1,020 meters, which was 47% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in just 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 810 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 54 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,771 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA) on runway 19, achieving a high score of 97.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north, heading 177.0° at an altitude of 158 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway threshold.
The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions. The temperature was a warm 29°C, and the wind was blowing at 5 knots from a direction of 199°. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 5 knots, which the pilot effectively managed during the landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was good at 137 knots, and the touchdown distance was also satisfactory at 326 meters. However, the touchdown speed of 133 knots was slightly faster than ideal, and the touchdown rate was hard at -417 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability throughout the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,020 meters was 47% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot made effective use of the available runway length and managed the aircraft's descent and touchdown with precision.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability even after touchdown. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and judgment in managing the aircraft's approach, touchdown, and rollout.
