Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,987 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 577 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, taking 12 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 10, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,156 meters, which was 42% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 17°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 120°. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 14 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,014 feet above sea level to 17,450 feet above sea level, an increase of 16,436 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 12 miles southeast of Bergeggi, lasting 9 minutes and covering 53 nautical miles. The aircraft then started another climb 1 mile south of Corana, ascending from 17,738 feet above sea level to 26,204 feet above sea level, an increase of 8,466 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 36 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed overhead Seveso, lasting 17 minutes and covering 114 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent 4 miles north of Soelden, Austria, descending from 26,171 feet above sea level to 2,668 feet above sea level, a decrease of 23,502 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 86 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 26L at Munich Airport took place from the east, with the aircraft heading 263.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,191 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 26L was successful, with the touchdown point being 153 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 112 knots, which was good, but the touchdown rate was heavy at -617 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 9°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 250°, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,141 meters, which was 29% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 315 nautical miles, taking 77 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,092 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed on runway 26L at EDDM Munich Airport, achieving a score of 90.0%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 263.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,191 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach speed and threshold height were both satisfactory, with a threshold speed of 121 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 153 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is slightly outside the recommended area. However, the touchdown speed of 112 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled descent. Unfortunately, the touchdown rate was heavy, at -617 feet per minute (fpm), which may have contributed to the slight deviation from the centerline.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.1 meters from the centerline, which may have been a result of the heavy touchdown rate. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 9°C and a gentle headwind of 6 knots from a direction of 250°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 1,141 meters was 29% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, while there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing, the pilot's performance was satisfactory, and the aircraft landed safely on the runway.
