MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,110 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 674 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 25C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF), with a takeoff distance of 1,293 meters, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 170 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 10°C temperature and winds of 20 knots at 209 degrees. The crosswind was 13 knots, while the headwind was 15 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile south of Kelsterbach, Germany, and the aircraft ascended from 1,341 feet above sea level to 34,485 feet, an increase of 33,144 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 117 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Linne, Netherlands, and lasted for 23 minutes, covering 388 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 20 miles north of Llandudno, Wales, and descended from 33,789 feet to 6,640 feet, a decrease of 27,149 feet in 13 minutes, covering 91 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise resumed 1 mile south of Duleek, Ireland, and lasted for 6 minutes, covering 17 nautical miles.
The final descent began overhead Kildalkey, Ireland, and the aircraft descended from 6,244 feet to 4,211 feet, a decrease of 2,033 feet in 2 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started 1 mile southwest of Kilmessan, Ireland, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 10L at Dublin Airport (EIDW) from the west, heading 95.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,311 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 10L was successful, with the touchdown point being 250 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was good, while the touchdown rate was fair at -266 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 7°C temperature and winds of 26 knots at 140 degrees, with a crosswind of 18 knots and a headwind of 18 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,288 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 641 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 72 minutes. The aircraft used 502 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 10L at Dublin Airport (EIDW) with a score of 86.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 95.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,311 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made with a good threshold speed of 138 knots, which is within the acceptable range for a safe landing.
However, the threshold height at 82 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly high on its approach. Despite this, the touchdown point was 250 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was also good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing.
The touchdown rate of -266 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down with a slightly higher rate of descent than desired. Nevertheless, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 7°C and a wind speed of 26 knots from a direction of 140°. The crosswind component was 18 knots, while the headwind component was also 18 knots. These conditions may have presented some challenges for the pilot, but they did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,288 meters was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft and make a smooth landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor issues with the threshold height and touchdown rate. Nevertheless, the pilot's skills and experience were able to overcome these challenges, resulting in a safe and controlled landing.
