Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,617 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 372 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 41 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 25C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The takeoff distance was 1,528 meters, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 166 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 26°C temperature and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 180°. The crosswind was 10 knots, while the headwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile south of Kelsterbach, Hessen, Germany, and involved a significant ascent from 1,432 feet above sea level to 37,959 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,527 feet in just 27 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 174 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles northwest of Terheijden, Provincie Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands. This cruise phase lasted for 48 minutes and covered a distance of 370 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 21 miles south of Port Erin, Isle of Man. The descent involved a decrease of 35,741 feet in just 17 minutes, covering a distance of 49 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 28L at Dublin Airport (EIDW) was made from the east, heading 275.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,267 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 28L was successful, with a touchdown distance of 372 meters, which was within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 132 knots was slightly faster than desired, and the touchdown rate of -293 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 26 knots from a direction of 189°. The crosswind was 26 knots, while the headwind was 2 knots. The total landing distance was 1,174 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. Unfortunately, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 22.5 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took just 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 606 nautical miles and lasted for 108 minutes, consuming 4,955 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 28L at Dublin Airport (EIDW) with a score of 91.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 275.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with a good threshold speed of 136 knots, which is within the acceptable range for a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly higher than desired at 132 knots, resulting in a touchdown rate of -293 feet per minute (fpm), which is considered fair. The touchdown distance of 372 meters was within the acceptable range, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing phase. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot successfully aligned the aircraft with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 26 knots from 189°. This resulted in a crosswind component of 26 knots and a headwind component of 2 knots. Despite these challenging conditions, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft's descent and touchdown.
However, there were some areas for improvement during the landing. The threshold height at 56 feet agl was slightly above the target, indicating that the pilot may have been slightly high on the approach. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 22.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's control inputs during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft during the approach and touchdown phases. However, there are opportunities for improvement in terms of maintaining a more precise threshold height and ensuring a more accurate runway rollout alignment.
