MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,391 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 418 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL), the Airbus A320 began its journey on runway 26L, taking off with a liftoff speed of 163 kt after a 2,023-meter takeoff distance, which covered 67% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 22 °C.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it passed overhead College Park, Georgia, and continued to ascend to 36,010 feet above sea level, a gain of 34,023 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 132 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase commenced 4 miles northeast of TN66 Austin Field Pikeville, Tennessee, and lasted for 16 minutes, during which the aircraft covered 340 nautical miles. Subsequently, the enroute descent phase began 2 miles east of De Motte Airport, Indiana, and the aircraft descended from 36,011 feet to 1,955 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,057 feet in 15 minutes, covering 119 nautical miles.
Upon reaching its destination, General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE), the aircraft initiated its final approach to runway 25L from the east, maintaining a heading of 252.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,215 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with a threshold speed slightly above the target at 142 kt, and the touchdown distance was 420 meters, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 137 kt, but the touchdown rate was good at -177 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. The total flight distance was 601 nautical miles, and the aircraft consumed 3,893 kilograms of fuel during the journey, which lasted 58 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 25L at KMKE General Mitchell International Airport with a good threshold height, allowing for a smooth transition from the approach to the touchdown phase. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 142 kt, which may have contributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed of 137 kt. However, the touchdown rate of -177 fpm was within acceptable limits, indicating a controlled descent.
The aircraft's touchdown distance of 420 m was good, considering the runway length of 2,391 m. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 m from the centreline, which may have been due to the crosswind component of 11 kt. Despite this, the local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15 °C and wind at 21 kt from 220 °, did not significantly impact the approach or landing. The headwind component of 18 kt helped to reduce the ground speed and made the landing more manageable.
The aircraft's rollout was very good, with excellent alignment on the centreline. The total landing distance of 1,337 m, which accounted for 56% of the runway, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing was considered to be of high quality, with a score of 98.0%. The only areas for improvement were the slightly fast touchdown speed and the slight misalignment of the touchdown position from the centreline.
