MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,441 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 542 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles (nm). This was followed by a departure roll from runway 35 at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport (KGRI), where the aircraft took off covering 1,671 meters of the runway at a speed of 78% of its maximum. The liftoff speed was 162 knots (kt).
As the flight progressed, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of the airport, at an altitude of 2,972 feet above sea level (asl). The aircraft climbed to an altitude of 12,472 ft asl in 4 minutes and covered 15 nm, an increase of 9,500 ft. The local weather during this time was characterized by a temperature of 12 °C, with a wind speed of 3 kt at 320 °, and a crosswind of 2 kt, with a headwind of 2 kt.
The enroute climb was followed by a 7-minute level cruise, which started 2 miles south east of Central City (Nebraska, United States), covering a distance of 46 nm. This was the beginning of the cruise phase of the flight, which lasted for a while.
The descent phase started 4 miles north east of the 78NE Stava Airport Brainard (Nebraska, United States), where the aircraft descended from an altitude of 12,369 ft asl to 2,008 ft asl in 10 minutes and covered 41 nm, a decrease of 10,362 ft.
Following the descent, there was another brief level cruise that started 3 miles north of La Vista (Nebraska, United States), lasting 3 minutes and covering 7 nm. The final approach to runway 36 at Eppley Airfield (KOMA) began, where the aircraft was heading south, at an altitude of 949 ft above ground level (agl), 2 nm from the runway.
The aircraft then successfully landed on runway 36 at KOMA, a runway length of 2,441 meters. The threshold height and threshold speed were both above the target, but the touchdown point was 131 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 139 kt was slightly fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -286 feet per minute (fpm), and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centerline.
The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.4 meters from the centerline. The landing distance was 1,409 meters, or 58% of the runway length. The total flight distance was 117 nm, and the total flight time was 34 minutes. The fuel used during the flight was 2,185 kilograms.
The taxiing from the runway to the parking was a short process, taking only 3 minutes and covering less than 1 nm. The flight was brought to a close in the designated parking area, marking the end of the journey.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed at KOMA Eppley Airfield, scoring 91.2%. The final approach to runway 36 came from the south at a heading of 355.0 degrees, located 2 nautical miles and 949 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's descent onto the runway, which is 2,441 meters long, marked a satisfactory conclusion to the approach.
However, the touchdown zone parameters were not met to the desired level. The threshold height, which is the height at which the aircraft should touch down, was above the target height at 64 feet agl. Conversely, the threshold speed, which should ideally be around the estimated speed for a safe touchdown, was significantly above the target at 152 knots (kts).
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed beyond the designated touchdown zone by 131 meters. The touchdown speed of 139 kts was slightly above the recommended speed, contributing to a moderate touchdown rate of -286 feet per minute (fpm). The initial touchdown point deviated by 7.9 meters from the centerline of the runway, which could potentially cause difficulties in maintaining proper alignment during the roll.
Weather conditions at the time of the landing included a temperature of 14°C, which was typical for the time and location. Notably, the total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,409 meters, representing 58% of the available runway length. A deviation in alignment was observed during the runway rollout, with the aircraft drifting 8.4 meters from the runway's centerline.
