Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,683 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,683 m of the 3,962 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 525 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a remarkable aircraft landing score of 96.3%! Your performance throughout the different phases of the landing process is truly commendable and demonstrates your skills as a pilot.
During the Approach Phase, your excellent glideslope alignment shows your ability to smoothly and accurately guide the aircraft towards the runway. This is a crucial phase in ensuring a safe and successful landing.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your good threshold height and landing flare indicate a well-coordinated approach to touching down on the runway. These factors contribute to a smooth and controlled landing, reducing the risk of any hard landings or potential runway overruns.
While the Touchdown Phase had some room for improvement with a slightly hard touchdown rate and slightly above target speed, the overall performance was still commendable. Your ability to maintain good runway touchdown position despite a touchdown point slightly beyond the designated zone is noteworthy.
Finally, the Rollout Phase showcased your proficiency in maintaining runway alignment, which is essential for a safe and efficient rollout after touchdown.
Overall, your performance in each phase of the landing process reflects your dedication to precision and safety. Keep up the excellent work and continue to strive for perfection in your future landings. Your attention to detail and skill as a pilot are truly commendable and set a high standard for others to follow. Well done on a job well done!
