MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed and off the runway's 3° glideslope.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed and off the runway's 3° glideslope.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,025 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,025 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 18 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question began with the taxiing of the aircraft, C750, from the parking area to the runway, which took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. Departure roll occurred on runway 27 at London City Airport (EGLC) in London, Greater London, England.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were moderate, with a temperature of 20°C, a wind speed of 17 knots at a bearing of 227°, resulting in a crosswind component of 12 knots and a headwind component of 12 knots. Following departure, the aircraft executed a takeoff roll, lifting off the ground at a speed of 141 knots. The takeoff distance covered 48% of the runway's length, with a total distance of 643 meters.
Climbing to a higher altitude, the enroute climb phase began over London City Airport. The aircraft ascended from a height of 1,063 feet above sea level to 45,364 feet above sea level in 20 minutes, a total increase of 44,301 feet. This climb phase covered a distance of 126 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruising phase 1 mile south of Tielt in Flanders, Belgium, and maintained this altitude for 28 minutes, traveling 233 nautical miles.
A short while later, the aircraft transitioned into the enroute descent phase, which started 1 mile northeast of Eguisheim in Grand Est, France. Here, the aircraft descended from 45,583 feet above sea level to 14,596 feet above sea level in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 122 nautical miles. This descent phase was followed by another brief level cruise, during which the aircraft remained at an altitude of 14,357 feet above sea level for 2 minutes, while traveling 7 nautical miles south-west of Moghegno in Ticino, Switzerland.
Next, the aircraft began another descent, this time from 14,357 feet above sea level to 6,680 feet above sea level in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles southwest of Brissago in Ticino, Switzerland. Another short level cruise followed, where the aircraft remained at 6,376 feet above sea level for 5 minutes, while flying 2 nautical miles west of Porto Ceresio in Lombardia, Italy.
Subsequently, the aircraft transitioned into a final descent, beginning over Bisuschio in Lombardia, Italy. In this final descent, the aircraft decreased its altitude from 6,376 feet above sea level to 3,808 feet above sea level in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 01 at Lugano Airport (LSZA) involved arriving from the south, approaching the runway at an angle of 18 degrees after flying 4 nautical miles. The aircraft descended to an altitude of 2,869 feet above ground level and touched down on the runway.
The landing was considered good, with a threshold height that was satisfactory and a speed that was slightly below the target at 114 knots. The touchdown distance was 19 meters, and the touchdown speed at 113 knots was a little fast, resulting in a heavy touchdown rate of -736 fpm. However, the aircraft maintained good runway alignment throughout the landing.
Following landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. This marked the conclusion of the flight.
The total flight distance was 515 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 89 minutes, and the aircraft consumed 1,280 kilograms of fuel throughout the journey.
Aircraft C750 has successfully landed at LSZA Lugano Airport, achieving a high score of 92.7%. The final approach was undertaken from the south, heading 18.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 2,869 feet above ground level (agl).
As the aircraft began its descent onto runway 01, it showed a good threshold height. However, there was a slight deviation from the target threshold speed, with the actual speed being 114 knots, which is slightly below the expected speed. This could be attributed to a minor adjustment in the pilot's technique.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft demonstrated a satisfactory distance of 19 meters, indicating a well-executed landing. However, the touchdown speed of 113 knots was found to be a little fast, suggesting a slight overshoot of the target speed. Furthermore, the touchdown rate was very heavy at -736 feet per minute (fpm), which could be a concern from a safety perspective.
Despite these minor deviations, the runway touchdown alignment was rated as very good, indicating that the aircraft remained on the correct path. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and no wind, resulting in a zero-knot crosswind and headwind.
The total landing distance was recorded as 568 meters, which is 55% of the runway length. This suggests that the aircraft touched down safely within the designated area. The runway rollout alignment was also found to be very good, reflecting the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing process.
Overall, while there were some minor areas for improvement, Aircraft C750 demonstrated a high level of proficiency and expertise during the landing procedure at LSZA Lugano Airport, earning a commendable score of 92.7%.
