Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,285 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 407 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 05R at Auckland International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,686 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 190 degrees. The crosswind was 12 knots, while the tailwind was 6 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Auckland International Airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,001 feet above sea level to 5,607 feet, an increase of 4,606 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 3 miles east of East Tamaki. This phase of the flight lasted for 2 minutes and covered 9 nautical miles. The enroute descent then began 3 miles west of Waiheke Reeve Airport, where the aircraft descended from 5,935 feet to 3,073 feet, a decrease of 2,862 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile south of Auckland Hobsonville Airport. This phase of the flight lasted for 6 minutes and covered 16 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 9 miles southwest of Titirangi, where the aircraft descended from 2,992 feet to 1,298 feet, a decrease of 1,694 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05R at Auckland International Airport was from the southwest, with a heading of 71.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,268 feet above ground level. However, the aircraft was required to perform a go-around at 65 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 05R, with a runway length of 3,285 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 137 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 408 meters, and the touchdown speed was 136 knots, which was also satisfactory. The touchdown rate was firm at -318 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 190 degrees, with a crosswind of 13 knots and a tailwind of 7 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,214 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.4 meters from the centerline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 73 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 52 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 2,194 kilograms.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 05R at Auckland International Airport (NZAA) with a score of 96.6%. The final approach was initiated from the southwest, heading 71.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,268 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady course throughout the approach, ultimately touching down on the runway with a good threshold height.
The threshold speed, which is the speed at which the aircraft touches down on the runway, was slightly above the target speed at 147 knots. However, this was not a significant deviation, and the aircraft was able to maintain control throughout the landing. The touchdown distance, which is the distance between the point where the aircraft touches down and the point where it comes to a complete stop, was also good at 408 meters.
The touchdown speed of 136 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate, which is the rate at which the aircraft descends onto the runway, was firm at -318 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the centerline of the runway at the point of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 190°. The crosswind component was 13 knots, while the tailwind component was 7 knots. These conditions did not appear to have any significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance, which is the distance between the point where the aircraft touches down and the point where it comes to a complete stop, was 1,214 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment, which is the alignment of the aircraft with the centerline of the runway after touchdown, was slightly misaligned by 11.4 meters. However, this was not a significant deviation, and the aircraft was able to maintain control throughout the rollout. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a score of 96.6%.
