Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,241 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 385 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a PC-12, then departed from runway 35 at KTIW Tacoma Narrows Airport, with a takeoff distance of 497 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 90 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started at an altitude of 1,317 feet above sea level and reached a maximum altitude of 22,279 feet above sea level, an increase of 20,962 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The enroute climb began 1 mile north of Wollochet, Washington, and continued until the aircraft reached the desired altitude.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles southeast of Kapowsin, Washington, and lasted for 140 minutes, covering a distance of 678 nautical miles. This phase of the flight allowed the aircraft to maintain a steady altitude and speed.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent from an altitude of 23,396 feet above sea level to 8,869 feet above sea level, a decrease of 14,527 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 41 nautical miles. The descent started 5 miles south of Koosharem, Utah.
The final approach to runway 21 at KBCE Bryce Canyon Airport was made from the northeast, with a heading of 226.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,262 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 21, which had a length of 2,241 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 86 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 386 meters, and the touchdown speed was 79 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was good at -192 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 90 degrees.
The crosswind was 3 knots, and the tailwind was 4 knots, which had a minimal impact on the landing. The total landing distance was 934 meters, accounting for 42% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating a smooth and controlled rollout.
The final taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 756 nautical miles, which was covered in 173 minutes, and the aircraft used 568 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The PC-12 aircraft successfully landed at KBCE Bryce Canyon Airport, achieving a score of 99.5%. The final approach to runway 21 was initiated from the north-east, with a heading of 226.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,262 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 86 knots. The touchdown distance was also satisfactory at 386 meters, and the touchdown speed was within the acceptable range at 79 knots. Furthermore, the touchdown rate was good at -192 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 90°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. These conditions contributed to a stable and controlled approach.
The total landing distance was 934 meters, which accounted for approximately 42% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-handled and the pilot executed a precise approach. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing phase.
Overall, the landing was executed flawlessly, with the aircraft touching down on the runway with a good threshold height, speed, and rate. The favorable weather conditions and the pilot's skillful handling of the aircraft contributed to a safe and successful landing.
