Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,986 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 446 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EDDW Bremen Airport, taking approximately 7 minutes to cover a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 27, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,293 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 0°C, with a wind speed of 11 knots blowing at 20 degrees. The crosswind component was 10 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. As the aircraft took to the skies, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the town of Stuhr in Lower Saxony, Germany. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,016 feet above sea level to 26,398 feet, an increase of 25,382 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 89 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 1 mile south of the town of Hahausen in Lower Saxony, Germany. This phase lasted for 20 minutes and covered a distance of 154 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began overhead the town of Mantel in Bavaria, Germany. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 26,664 feet to 4,737 feet, a decrease of 21,927 feet, in 14 minutes and covering a distance of 85 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile northwest of the town of Au in der Hallertau in Bavaria, Germany. This phase lasted for 8 minutes and covered a distance of 30 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 08L at EDDM Munich Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading at 83.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level and 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing took place on runway 08L, which had a length of 3,986 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 130 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 448 meters, and the touchdown speed was 122 knots, which was also satisfactory. The touchdown rate was firm at -323 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 16.2 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 4°C, with a wind speed of 13 knots blowing at 10 degrees. The crosswind component was 12 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,375 meters, which accounted for 35% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.9 meters from the centerline.
The flight concluded with the aircraft taxiing to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 9 minutes to cover a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 366 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 73 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 3,027 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at EDDM Munich Airport, achieving a score of 91.8%. The final approach to runway 08L was initiated from the west, with a heading of 83.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed of 130 knots being maintained.
The touchdown distance of 448 meters was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown speed of 122 knots was also satisfactory. However, the touchdown rate of -323 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, indicating a relatively steep descent. The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 16.2 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 4°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 10°. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. Despite these conditions, the aircraft was able to maintain control and land safely.
The total landing distance of 1,375 meters was 35% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown position misalignment. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of maintaining alignment with the runway centerline.
