Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,509 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,281 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 28 at Zürich Airport (LSZH) and took off with a takeoff distance of 460 feet, which accounted for 6% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 151 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 68°F and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 290°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 19 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Rumlang in the Kanton Zurich region of Switzerland. The climb took 22 minutes and covered a distance of 136 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 2,406 feet above sea level to 39,102 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles south west of Belleydoux in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. This phase lasted for 85 minutes and covered a distance of 628 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles south of Santa Elena in the Andalusia region of Spain. The descent took 33 minutes and covered a distance of 111 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 39,432 feet above sea level to 2,424 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 8 miles south east of Torremolinos in the Andalusia region of Spain. This phase lasted for only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 31 at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (LEMG), approaching from the south east and heading 312.0° at an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 118 knots and a touchdown rate of -100 feet per minute. The touchdown distance was 1,285 feet, which was 31% of the runway length. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were similar to those at the time of departure, with a temperature of 68°F and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 290°.
The final taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 887 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 153 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 12,142 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, with a final approach score of 99.5%. The aircraft was approaching runway 31 from the southeast, heading 312.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,271 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's control and navigation skills were evident in the precise approach, which set the stage for a smooth landing.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 126 kt, which was within the acceptable threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 1,285 ft was also within the expected range, indicating that the pilot had maintained control and precision throughout the landing process. The touchdown speed of 118 kt was slightly lower than the threshold speed, but still within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -100 fpm was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 68°F and a wind speed of 19 kt from 290°. The crosswind component was relatively low at 7 kt, while the headwind component was 18 kt, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance of 3,245 ft was 31% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had made efficient use of the available runway.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a straight and steady path after touchdown. This suggests that the pilot had maintained control and precision throughout the landing process, and had successfully transitioned from the landing phase to the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
