Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,836 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 430 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-MAX8, then departed from runway 07 at GCTS Tenerife Sur Airport, a location in the Canary Islands, Spain. The takeoff distance was 1,365 meters, which accounted for 43% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 178 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 23 knots at a direction of 70 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 23 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead GCTS Tenerife Sur Airport. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,214 feet above sea level to 36,378 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,164 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 6 miles south east of Selvagem Grande, a location in the Madeira Islands, Portugal. This phase of the flight lasted for 178 minutes and covered a distance of 1,273 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 8 miles north west of Erquy, a location in Bretagne, France. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 34,805 feet above sea level to 6,676 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,128 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 111 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 11 miles south west of Freshwater, a location on the Isle of Wight, England. This phase of the flight lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 4 miles south west of Freshwater. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 6,688 feet above sea level to 1,492 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,196 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 20 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a final level cruise phase, which started overhead Lytchett Matravers, a location in Dorset, England. This phase of the flight lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 08 at EGHH Bournemouth Airport, which was located to the west. The aircraft was heading at 75.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,255 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft landed on runway 08 at EGHH Bournemouth Airport, which had a length of 1,836 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots at a direction of 130 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The aircraft touched down at a speed of 132 knots and a distance of 430 meters. The touchdown rate was firm at -327 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 1,309 meters, which accounted for 71% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 17.1 meters from the centreline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance
The Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft successfully landed at Bournemouth Airport (EGHH) on runway 08, achieving a score of 93.0%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 75.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,255 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 144 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 430 meters, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -327 feet per minute (fpm). However, there was a slight misalignment of the runway touchdown position, deviating from the centreline by 3.7 meters.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 130°. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The total landing distance was 1,309 meters, which is 71% of the runway length. Unfortunately, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned, deviating from the centreline by 17.1 meters.
Despite these minor deviations, the overall performance of the Boeing 737-MAX8 aircraft during the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 93.0%. The pilots demonstrated good control and handling of the aircraft, and the landing was completed safely. However, there is room for improvement in terms of maintaining a more accurate alignment during the rollout phase.
