Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,602 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 370 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 04R, and the takeoff distance was 1,469 meters, which is 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 150 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and wind blowing at 14 knots from a direction of 210 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, and there was a tailwind of 14 knots. The enroute climb started over Nice-Côte d'Azur Airport, where the aircraft was climbing from an altitude of 859 feet above sea level to 35,422 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,564 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 155 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started over Albinea, Italy, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 148 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent over Repen, Italy, from an altitude of 35,542 feet above sea level to 34,566 feet above sea level, a decrease of 976 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again over Podkraj, Slovenia, and lasted for 10 minutes, covering a distance of 81 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its descent over Spielfeld, Austria, from an altitude of 34,210 feet above sea level to 5,532 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,678 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 90 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again 1 mile north of Jois, Austria, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent over Scharndorf, Austria, from an altitude of 5,112 feet above sea level to 3,559 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,554 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again over Leopoldsdorf im Marchfelde, Austria, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 16 at Vienna International Airport took place from the north, heading 164.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,279 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 16 at Vienna International Airport was successful, with a touchdown distance of 371 meters and a touchdown speed of 129 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was hard at -479 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius and wind blowing at 15 knots from a direction of 109 degrees, with a crosswind of 12 knots and a headwind of 9 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,382 meters, which is 38% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.9 meters from the centerline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 515 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 88 minutes, using 4,070 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at Vienna International Airport (LOWW) on runway 16, achieving a score of 94.0%. The final approach was initiated from the north, heading 164.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,279 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a good threshold height, indicating that the pilots maintained a safe altitude prior to touchdown.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 136 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed range. However, the touchdown speed of 129 knots was slightly faster than desired, suggesting that the pilots may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. The touchdown distance of 371 meters was also within the acceptable range, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the final stages of the approach.
The landing rate of -479 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down with a higher than desired rate of descent. This could be attributed to a variety of factors, including the pilots' decision to flare the aircraft or the aircraft's performance characteristics.
In terms of runway alignment, the aircraft touched down perfectly aligned with the runway centerline, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the final stages of the approach. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.9 meters from the centerline, suggesting that the pilots may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 109°. The crosswind component was 12 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots. The total landing distance of 1,382 meters was 38% of the runway length, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score of 94.0%.
