MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Departure
Use smoother, smaller aileron inputs to keep the wings level and hold bank angle near wings-level during the climb.
What happened: During the climb, bank angle rose to 1.8°, more roll than the climb out called for.
Watch for: Attitude indicator: wings level during the climb
Arrival
Reduce power earlier on final so threshold speed settles at 67 kt instead of carrying it into the flare.
What happened: You crossed the threshold at 114 kt, well above the 67 kt target speed, and that excess speed was still showing at touchdown. Crossing the threshold fast usually carries straight through to a fast touchdown.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator against 67 kt on short final.
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed, off the runway's 3° glideslope and speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,835 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 703 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft, a TBM 930, then departed from runway 25C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The takeoff distance was 386 meters, which is 10% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 92 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 190°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of Kelsterbach, Hessen, Germany. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,346 feet above sea level (asl) to 6,512 ft asl, an increase of 5,166 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 1 mile northeast of Wiesbaden Army Airfield (ETOU), Wiesbaden, Hessen, Germany, and lasted for 15 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time starting 1 mile west of Heusenstamm, Hessen, Germany. The climb took the aircraft from 7,425 ft asl to 11,586 ft asl, an increase of 4,161 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 1 mile east of Dietzenbach, Hessen, Germany, and took the aircraft from 11,619 ft asl to 8,894 ft asl, a decrease of 2,725 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started 1 mile north of Gross-Umstadt, Hessen, Germany, and lasted for 11 minutes, covering a distance of 62 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started overhead Clausen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, and took the aircraft from 8,932 ft asl to 3,542 ft asl, a decrease of 5,390 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 11 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started 1 mile north of Althornbach, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The final enroute descent started 1 mile southwest of Blieskastel, Saarland, Germany, and took the aircraft from 3,568 ft asl to 2,715 ft asl, a decrease of 853 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 27 at Saarbrücken Airport (EDDR), approaching from the east at a heading of 268.0°, 1 nautical mile from the runway and 1,611 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing on runway 27 at EDDR Saarbrücken Airport was characterized by a runway length of 1,835 meters. The threshold height at 106 ft agl was excessively over target, while the threshold speed was excessively high at 114 knots. The touchdown point was 127 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 85 knots, which was too fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -299 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.8 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C, with a wind speed of 1
The TBM 930 aircraft successfully landed at EDDR Saarbrücken Airport, but the landing was not without its issues. The final approach was made from the east, heading 268.0° at 1 nm and 1,611 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 27, which has a length of 1,835 meters.
However, there were several areas where the landing could be improved. The threshold height at 106 ft agl was excessively over target, indicating that the aircraft was higher than it should have been at the point of touchdown. Additionally, the threshold speed was excessively high at 114 kt, suggesting that the pilot may have been too aggressive in their approach.
The touchdown point was 127 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a significant deviation from the intended landing spot. Furthermore, the touchdown speed of 85 kt was too fast, and the touchdown rate of -299 fpm was only fair. This suggests that the pilot may have been unable to control the aircraft's descent effectively.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.8 meters from the centerline, which could have been due to a variety of factors including wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 10°C and a wind of 1 kt at 270°. There was no crosswind, but a headwind of 1 kt.
Despite the issues with the landing, the total landing distance of 838 meters was only 46% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, while the landing was not perfect, it was still a safe and successful operation.
