Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: speed 11 kt SLOW on the reference speed of 140 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,776 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 325 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, the aircraft began its journey on runway 36R, taking off with a distance of 2,842 feet, which accounted for 21% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 142 knots, with a local temperature of 83 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind of 9 knots at 79 degrees. The crosswind component was 9 knots, while the headwind component was 2 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute altitude, it began its ascent from 1,518 feet above sea level to 37,015 feet, a vertical increase of 35,497 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 99 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which started 6 miles west of the TT40 Burkett Ranch/Jackson Pasture Airport and lasted for 76 minutes, covering a distance of 649 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 5 miles northwest of the KARZ Arizona City Airport, and continued to descend to 4,997 feet above sea level in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 114 nautical miles. The final descent phase started overhead Goodyear, Arizona, and the aircraft touched down on runway 07R at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, with a touchdown distance of 314 feet and a speed of 112 knots.
The landing was followed by a rollout, during which the aircraft was misaligned by 79 feet from the centerline. The total landing distance was 2,490 feet, accounting for 32% of the runway length. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. The total flight distance was 893 nautical miles, with a flight time of 2 hours and 4 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,116 pounds of fuel.
The aircraft, C750, successfully completed a landing on runway 07R at KPHX Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, with a final approach initiated from the west at a heading of 90.0°, 4 nautical miles from the threshold and 1,228 feet above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target, registering at 113 knots, which may have contributed to a slightly fast touchdown speed of 112 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft exhibited a hard touchdown rate of -413 feet per minute, which may have been influenced by the slightly fast touchdown speed. The touchdown distance was within acceptable limits at 314 feet, but the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned from the centreline by 71 feet. This misalignment persisted during the rollout phase, with the aircraft deviating from the centreline by 79 feet. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 84°F and a light wind of 4 knots from 320°, did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The overall performance of the landing was satisfactory, with a total landing distance of 2,490 feet, which accounted for 32% of the runway length. While there were some areas for improvement, such as the threshold speed and touchdown rate, the aircraft demonstrated good control and stability throughout the landing. The final score of 86.6% reflects a solid performance, with opportunities for refinement in future landings.
