Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: speed 6 kt SLOW on the reference speed of 70 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,736 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 137 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at CYXU London Airport took less than a minute, covering a short distance of less than one nautical mile. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 33, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 78 knots. The takeoff distance of 660 meters, which accounted for 25% of the runway length, was achieved in a relatively short period. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 16°C and a light wind of 1 knot from 269°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind component.
As the aircraft climbed away from CYXU, it began its enroute climb at a point one mile northwest of the airport, rising from an initial altitude of 1,652 feet above sea level to 6,948 feet in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. This was followed by a 47-minute level cruise at an altitude of 6,948 feet, during which the aircraft covered 139 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began 12 miles northeast of Cobourg, with the aircraft descending from 6,740 feet to 2,527 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. A second level cruise phase ensued, lasting 18 minutes and covering 42 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 24 at CYTR CFB Trenton was initiated from the northeast, with the aircraft descending from 1,527 feet above ground level to touch down on the runway.
The landing on runway 24 was achieved with a threshold speed slightly below the target of 62 knots, resulting in a touchdown distance of 134 meters, which was within acceptable limits. The touchdown speed of 61 knots was also good, but the touchdown rate of -432 feet per minute was somewhat hard. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.6 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was similarly misaligned by 8.3 meters. The total landing distance of 297 meters accounted for just 11% of the runway length. Following a taxiing period of 4 minutes, the aircraft arrived at the parking area, having completed a total flight distance of 211 nautical miles and consuming 282 kilograms of fuel in the process, which took a total of 84 minutes.
The aircraft touched down on runway 24 at CYTR CFB Trenton, demonstrating a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target, registering 62 kt. The touchdown distance was satisfactory at 134 m, and the touchdown speed of 61 kt was also within acceptable limits. Unfortunately, the touchdown rate was hard, measuring -432 fpm.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's runway touchdown position was found to be misaligned by 8.6 m from the centreline. This deviation was also observed during the rollout phase, where the aircraft's alignment was slightly off by 8.3 m from the centreline. Despite these minor deviations, the overall landing performance was satisfactory, with the total landing distance of 297 m accounting for only 11% of the runway length.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 °C, with a wind speed of 1 kt from 270 °. The crosswind and headwind components were negligible, with both measuring 1 kt. Overall, the landing was deemed to be of high quality, earning a score of 94.8%.
