Settle the descent rate
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.
At the 300 ft gate: sink rate 1,056 ft/m, more than the glideslope needed and centreline 3.5° off, against a 1° limit.

Side view — the last 1,218 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,218 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 195 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star taxied from the parking area to runway 07L at KDAB Daytona Beach International Airport, a movement that required 16 minutes and covered 4 nm.
Departure roll commenced on runway 07L, and the aircraft lifted off after a ground run of 760 m, representing 25 % of the available runway. Liftoff speed was recorded at 94 kt. Ambient conditions were 16 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 269°, a cross-wind component of 0 kt and a tail-wind component of 1 kt.
Climb began overhead KDAB, with the aircraft ascending from 998 ft asl to 8 006 ft asl, an increase of 7 007 ft achieved in 6 minutes while covering 10 nm.
The first cruise segment started 1 mile north of KOMN Ormond Beach Municipal Airport and continued for 10 minutes, during which 29 nm were traversed.
Descent commenced 1 mile southwest of Butler Beach, descending from 7 983 ft asl to 5 503 ft asl, a loss of 2 481 ft in 3 minutes over a distance of 9 nm.
A second cruise phase began 1 mile south of KSGJ Northeast Florida Regional Airport, lasting 5 minutes and covering 13 nm.
The next descent started 4 miles northwest of Nocatee, with altitude decreasing from 5 006 ft asl to 3 005 ft asl, a reduction of 2 002 ft in 3 minutes while flying 8 nm.
A third cruise segment originated 5 miles southwest of KCRG Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport, persisting for 5 minutes and encompassing 13 nm.
Descent resumed 4 miles south of KJAX Jacksonville International Airport, dropping from 2 999 ft asl to 1 268 ft asl, a loss of 1 731 ft in 4 minutes across 11 nm.
Final approach to runway 14 at KCRG Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport involved a descent from 499 ft agl to 29 ft agl in 40 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 14 was executed with a threshold speed of 75 kt (slightly below target), touchdown distance of 192 m, touchdown speed of 66 kt, and a touchdown rate of minus 230 fpm. Runway length is 1 218 m; total landing distance measured 422 m, equivalent to 35 % of the runway. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and local weather reported 15 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 270°, a cross-wind of 1 kt and a tail-wind of 1 kt.
Runway rollout proceeded with perfect alignment, confirming the aircraft remained on centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
Taxi-in from the runway to the parking area required less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 99 nm, required 51 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 28 kg of fuel.
The Diamond DA42 Twin Star approached runway 14 at KCRG Jacksonville Executive, descending from 499 ft AGL to 29 ft AGL in 40 seconds and receiving a score on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a good height, while the threshold speed was recorded at 75 kt, a little below the target value.
Touchdown occurred 192 m down the runway at 66 kt, a speed judged good; the vertical rate was minus 230 fpm, rated fair, and runway-touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total of 422 m, representing 35 % of the 1 218 m runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
To tighten the already strong performance, aim for the published threshold speed rather than the slightly low 75 kt and refine the flare to achieve a gentler descent rate, which will further improve the touchdown profile while preserving the high overall score.
