Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,660 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,660 m of the 2,282 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 236 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KLBE Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. This process took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 06, and the takeoff distance was 1,051 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 152 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius and winds of 7 knots at 349 degrees. The crosswind was 6 knots, and the headwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Lawson Heights in Pennsylvania, and the aircraft ascended from 2,186 feet above sea level to 17,201 feet above sea level, an increase of 15,015 feet in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead PN98 Dream Field Berlin in Pennsylvania and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 61 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 1 mile south east of Lake Latonka, descending from 17,279 feet above sea level to 4,644 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,636 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 51 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 1 mile south east of Northwest Harborcreek, lasting for 5 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 2 miles north east of Northwest Harborcreek, descending from 3,831 feet above sea level to 1,935 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,896 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24 at KERI Erie International Tom Ridge Field was made from the north east, heading 234.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,195 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 24, which had a length of 2,282 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 125 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 237 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 126 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -346 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.6 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 0 degrees Celsius and winds of 5 knots at 130 degrees, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,577 meters, which accounted for 69% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.6 meters from the centreline. The aircraft then taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking 8 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 148 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 48 minutes. The aircraft used 2,090 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at KERI Erie International Tom Ridge Field, achieving a score of 95.4%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 234.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,195 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the threshold speed was within the acceptable range at 125 knots. However, the touchdown speed of 126 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate. The touchdown rate of -346 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slight bounce or jolt upon touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. The local weather conditions were relatively calm, with a temperature of 0°C and a wind speed of 5 knots at 130°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the tailwind component was 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 1,577 meters was 69% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.6 meters from the centerline, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced some difficulty in maintaining a straight path during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal performance. The aircraft's score of 95.4% indicates that the pilots were able to execute the landing with a high degree of proficiency, but there is still room for improvement in terms of precision and control.
