MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,985 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 526 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Beechcraft Duke, then departed from runway 24R at GAGO Gao Airport, with a takeoff distance of 751 meters, which was 30% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 96 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 38°C temperature and a wind speed of 10 knots at 189 degrees. The crosswind was 8 knots, and the headwind was 6 knots. After departing from GAGO Gao Airport, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and reached an altitude of 13,688 feet above sea level. The climb was a significant increase of 12,510 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 32 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 31 miles north of Gao and lasted for 69 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 240 nautical miles. The cruise was followed by a descent, which began 26 miles north of GATS Tessalit Airport and ended at an altitude of 3,659 feet above sea level. The descent was a decrease of 10,125 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 34 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 9 miles southeast of DATM Bordj Badji Mokhtar Airport and lasted for 3 minutes. This was followed by a descent, which began 2 miles east of the airport and ended at an altitude of 2,914 feet above sea level. The descent was a decrease of 756 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 5 miles northeast of DATM Bordj Badji Mokhtar Airport and lasted for 4 minutes. This was followed by a final approach to runway 26 at the airport, which was made from the east, heading 255.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 883 feet above ground level.
The landing was made on runway 26, which had a length of 2,985 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 101 knots. The touchdown point was 104 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 87 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -109 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 10.1 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.5 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 42°C temperature and a wind speed of 10 knots at 70 degrees, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 10 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,212 meters, which was 41% of the runway length. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 327 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 112 minutes. The aircraft used 212 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Beechcraft Duke aircraft successfully landed at DATM Bordj Badji Mokhtar Airport, achieving a score of 93.3%. The final approach to runway 26 was conducted from the east, heading 255.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 883 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold speed being slightly above the target at 101 knots. The touchdown point was 104 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing spot. However, the touchdown speed of 87 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -109 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a high temperature of 42°C and a moderate wind of 10 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the tailwind component was 10 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,212 meters was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.5 meters from the centerline, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal path.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and a smooth touchdown rate. However, there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing spot and runway alignment, which may be addressed in future training exercises to improve the pilot's skills and precision.
