MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,361 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 3,040 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Great job on your aircraft landing score of 88.8%! Your approach phase had excellent glideslope alignment and your landing phase had a good threshold height, however, there was room for improvement in your landing flare. Make sure to focus on your technique during this phase to achieve a smoother touchdown.
During the touchdown phase, your touchdown rate was smooth and your speed was on target, which is fantastic. However, the touchdown point being 1597 ft beyond the touchdown zone is something to work on for future landings. Try to aim for a more precise touchdown point to improve your overall performance.
On a positive note, your runway touchdown position was very good, showing that you have a good sense of positioning and control during this critical phase of the landing. Additionally, the rollout phase's runway alignment was very good, indicating your ability to maintain control and direction on the runway.
Overall, your landing score is impressive, but there are areas that you can focus on to further enhance your skills and performance. Keep up the great work and continue to strive for improvement in each phase of the landing process. With dedication and practice, you can achieve even higher scores in the future. Well done!
