MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,112 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 338 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Boeing 737-700 began with a quick 2-minute taxi from the parking area to the runway at VAPO Pune Airport / Lohagaon Air Force Station. The departure roll on runway 28 covered less than 1 nm and the takeoff distance was 1,262 m, with liftoff speed at 140 kn. The local weather at the time of departure was 31 °C with a 1 kn wind coming from 310 ° resulting in minimal crosswind and headwind.
Once in the air, the enroute climb started 1 mile west of Pune Airport and reached an altitude of 39,934 ft, covering a distance of 301 nm in 40 minutes. The aircraft then leveled off for a 92-minute cruise period covering 1,083 nm, starting 9 miles north of Wardha, Maharashtra, India.
The descent began 39 miles north of Mae Hong Son, Thailand, with the aircraft descending from 39,931 ft to 2,271 ft over 12 minutes and covering 96 nm. The final approach to runway 36 at VTCC Chiang Mai International Airport was smooth, with a good touchdown at 130 kn and a touchdown rate of -114 ft/m. However, the touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.4 m from the centerline of the runway. The landing distance was 862 m, which was 28% of the total runway length, and the taxi back to the parking area took just 1 minute.
Overall, the total flight distance covered was 1,487 nm in 150 minutes, consuming 8,037 kg of fuel. The flight was completed successfully with smooth operations throughout the journey.
