MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,851 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,851 ft of the 10,480 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,562 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The journey began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 20 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 34R at OEJN King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
As the aircraft took off, it reached a liftoff speed of 194 knots, covering 50% of the runway's length of 6,579 feet. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 92 degrees Fahrenheit.
The enroute climb phase started 2 miles north of the airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,030 feet above sea level to 29,881 feet, an increase of 28,851 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 127 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which began 25 miles southeast of Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, and lasted for 179 minutes, covering a distance of 1,370 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another climb phase, this time from 30,003 feet to 31,987 feet, an increase of 1,984 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nautical miles. The level cruise phase that followed started 6 miles southwest of Rrogozhine, Albania, and lasted for 194 minutes, covering a distance of 1,480 nautical miles.
The flight continued with several more climb and level cruise phases, each covering significant distances and altitudes. Notably, the aircraft climbed from 32,681 feet to 34,079 feet in 2 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles, and then from 34,252 feet to 36,240 feet in 3 minutes, covering 28 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it entered a descent phase, starting 14 miles west of CSU4 Sainte-Lucie-de-Beauregard Airport in Quebec, Canada. The descent from 36,114 feet to 32,141 feet took 9 minutes, covering a distance of 50 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08R at KMIA Miami International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 87.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,260 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown point 211 feet beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 142 knots, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind speed of 7 knots at 136 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 5,600 feet, which was 53% of the runway's length of 10,480 feet. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took only 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 6,623 nautical miles, taking a total of 904 minutes, and the aircraft used 281,980 pounds of fuel during the journey.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at Miami International Airport (KMIA) on runway 08R, achieving a high score of 98.4%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 87.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,260 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a good threshold height, indicating that the pilots maintained a stable and controlled descent.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 144 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 142 knots was slightly higher than the ideal speed, suggesting that the pilots may have been able to maintain a more controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -295 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, indicating that the aircraft's rate of descent was not excessively high.
The touchdown point was located 211 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft's approach and landing were well-coordinated. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 82°F and a gentle wind of 7 knots from 136°.
The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots, resulting in a net headwind effect. The total landing distance of 5,600 feet was 53% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and coordination throughout the approach and landing phases.
