MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,284 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 375 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Honiara International Airport, the Boeing 737-900 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. Upon reaching runway 06, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 1,248-meter stretch of the 2,200-meter runway, which accounted for 57% of its length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 146 knots, overcoming the negligible headwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed away from the Solomon Islands, it began its enroute climb, ascending from an initial altitude of 973 feet above sea level to a cruising altitude of 36,874 feet, an increase of 35,901 feet in 38 minutes. The climb phase covered a distance of 285 nautical miles, taking the aircraft east of Honiara. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining a steady altitude and airspeed for 154 minutes, covering a distance of 1,406 nautical miles. The cruise phase was punctuated by a descent phase, initiated 25 miles northeast of Awanui, New Zealand, where the aircraft descended from 36,631 feet to 1,322 feet in 27 minutes, covering a distance of 169 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached Auckland International Airport, it began its final approach to runway 05R, aligning itself with the runway from the southwest at a heading of 71.0 degrees. The aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 130 knots, with a smooth touchdown rate of -122 feet per minute. The total landing distance was 927 meters, accounting for 28% of the 3,285-meter runway. Following touchdown, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,866 nautical miles, covering a distance of 10,813 kilograms of fuel over a duration of 228 minutes.
The Boeing 737-900 touched down smoothly on runway 05R at NZAA Auckland International Airport, showcasing exceptional approach quality. The aircraft descended from 1,288 feet above ground level (agl) at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold, aligning itself with the runway heading of 71.0°. The approach was characterized by a stable and controlled descent, culminating in a good threshold height.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft displayed a satisfactory threshold speed of 135 knots, with a corresponding touchdown distance of 379 meters. The touchdown speed of 130 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -122 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, indicating a well-executed landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway centerline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 15°C and a light wind of 3 knots at 170°, contributed to a stable and predictable approach.
The Boeing 737-900 rolled out along the runway with excellent alignment, covering a total distance of 927 meters, which represented 28% of the runway length. The rollout was characterized by a very good alignment, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline position throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was scored at 99.8%, reflecting the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the crew in executing a safe and efficient landing.
