Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: glideslope 1.7° against the runway's 3°.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 7,392 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 770 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) on runway 19R, the aircraft accelerated down the 7,404-foot runway, reaching liftoff speed of 142 knots in 2,143 feet, or 24% of the available runway length. The initial climb phase began shortly after takeoff, with the aircraft ascending from 1,938 feet above sea level to 24,721 feet in a mere 10 minutes, covering a distance of 56 nautical miles. This rapid ascent was achieved in a relatively calm environment, with a temperature of 63°F and a gentle headwind of 2 knots from the northwest.
As the aircraft leveled off at 24,721 feet, it entered a 42-minute cruise phase, during which it covered a distance of 346 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise phase started approximately 7 miles east of Rogers Park, Illinois, and continued until the aircraft began its descent 5 miles south of Celina, Tennessee. The descent phase was characterized by a significant decrease in altitude, from 24,996 feet to 1,928 feet, in just 15 minutes, covering a distance of 84 nautical miles. This steep descent was necessary to prepare for the final approach to runway 20 at Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (KCHA).
The final approach to runway 20 was initiated from the north, with the aircraft flying at an altitude of 1,242 feet above ground level and a heading of 197.0°. The landing was executed with a threshold speed of 100 knots, slightly below the target speed. The touchdown distance was 766 feet, and the touchdown speed was 98 knots, both of which were within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -297 feet per minute was fair, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. Following a smooth rollout, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 493 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 73 minutes, with no fuel consumed during the flight.
The aircraft, C750, successfully executed a final approach to runway 20 at KCHA Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (Lovell Field) from the north, aligning with the runway at 4 nm and 1,242 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a heading of 197.0° and a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 100 kt, indicating a minor deviation from optimal conditions.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 766 ft, and the touchdown speed of 98 kt was within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -297 fpm was fair, suggesting a slight impact on the aircraft's deceleration. Notably, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 59°F and a light headwind of 1 kt, contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 2,543 ft was 34% of the runway length, indicating a controlled rollout. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing performance of C750 was impressive, with a score of 98.2% reflecting the high level of proficiency demonstrated by the pilot.
