Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,295 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,295 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 482 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 01 at N07 Lincoln Park Airport. The aircraft, an SR22, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 80 kt, covering 72% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 11 °C, with a wind blowing at 8 kt from a direction of 220 °. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 kt and a tailwind of 5 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft up to an altitude of 2,633 ft asl. This climb was achieved in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm and an altitude increase of 2,221 ft. The aircraft then leveled off and entered a cruise phase, which lasted for 39 minutes and covered a distance of 83 nm.
The enroute descent phase began 1 mile north of North Sea, New York, and took the aircraft down from an altitude of 2,302 ft asl to 1,489 ft asl. This descent was achieved in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm and a decrease in altitude of 813 ft. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 10 at KJPX Town of East Hampton Airport, approaching from the west at a heading of 89.0 ° and an altitude of 1,446 ft agl.
The landing was made on runway 10, which had a length of 1,295 m. The threshold height at 57 ft agl was slightly above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 74 kt. The touchdown distance was good at 478 m, and the touchdown speed was also good at 70 kt. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -206 fpm. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.1 m from the centreline.
The total landing distance was 744 m, which was 57% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 7.9 m from the centreline. After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking less than 1 minute and covering a distance of less than 1 nm.
The flight was completed with a total distance of 93 nm, taking 48 minutes to complete and using 54 kg of fuel.
The SR22 aircraft successfully landed at KJPX Town of East Hampton Airport, achieving a score of 91.7%. The final approach to runway 10 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 89.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,446 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway at a speed of 70 knots, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 478 meters was also considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -206 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the pilot could have maintained a more gradual descent.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 6.1 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's approach or a minor issue with the aircraft's navigation system. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. This minimal wind made the landing process relatively straightforward.
The total landing distance of 744 meters was 57% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline by 7.9 meters, which may have been due to a minor issue with the pilot's control inputs or a slight deviation in the aircraft's response to the controls.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and precision during the approach and touchdown phases. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown rate and runway alignment, which may be addressed in future training or practice sessions.
