Improve the takeoff
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,266 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 461 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Punta Cana International Airport, the PC-24 VIP aircraft began its taxiing process from the parking area to the runway, taking approximately 9 minutes to cover the 2-nautical-mile distance. Upon reaching runway 09, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, utilizing 820 meters, or 26% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 121 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 27 °C, with a wind of 9 knots at 140°, resulting in a 7-knot crosswind and a 5-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile east of Punta Cana International Airport, ascending from 1,001 feet above sea level to 33,011 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 117 nautical miles. The climb profile was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, with a total ascent of 32,010 feet. Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, lasting 18 minutes and covering 126 nautical miles, before initiating its enroute descent. The descent phase was notable for its steep rate of descent, with the aircraft decreasing in altitude from 33,009 feet to 1,765 feet in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of 1,481 nautical miles.
Upon reaching the final approach phase, the aircraft began its descent towards runway 01 at Presque Isle International Airport, approaching from the south at a heading of 342.0°. The local weather conditions at the time of landing featured a temperature of 14 °C, with a wind of 10 knots at 170°, resulting in a 1-knot crosswind and a 10-knot tailwind. The aircraft landed safely on the runway, utilizing 463 meters of the 2,268-meter-long runway, or 36% of the available distance. The touchdown speed was 102 knots, and the touchdown rate was an excellent -93 feet per minute. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover the short distance. The total flight distance was 1,732 nautical miles, with a total fuel consumption of 2,150 kilograms, and a flight duration of 53 minutes.
The final approach to runway 01 at KPQI Presque Isle International Airport from the south was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 342.0° at 4 nm and 1,312 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 118 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal approach speed.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 463 m, and the touchdown speed of 102 kt was within the acceptable range. The touchdown rate of -93 fpm was exceptional, demonstrating a high degree of control and precision. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a precise centerline alignment. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 14 °C and a wind of 10 kt at 170°, contributed to a relatively straightforward landing.
The total landing distance of 814 m, which accounted for 36% of the runway length, was well within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a precise centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed flawlessly, with a score of 100.0% reflecting the high level of precision and control demonstrated by the pilot.
