MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,295 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 377 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 06L at Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,574 meters, which is 55% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 166 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 0°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 179 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, and the tailwind was also 4 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile north of Eringate-Centennial-West Deane, Ontario, Canada, where the aircraft climbed from 1,578 feet above sea level to 30,926 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,348 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 110 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started overhead North Warren, Pennsylvania, United States, and lasted for 9 minutes, covering a distance of 263 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb 5 miles east of Stone Harbor, New Jersey, United States, where it climbed from 30,945 feet above sea level to 32,945 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,001 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 24 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 31 miles southeast of Stone Harbor and lasted for 21 minutes, covering a distance of 655 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb at a specific latitude and longitude, where it climbed from 33,026 feet above sea level to 36,989 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,963 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 98 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started at another specific latitude and longitude and lasted for 16 minutes, covering a distance of 478 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 66 miles north of R095 British Virgin Static Carrier - Prince of Wales, British Virgin Islands, where the aircraft descended from 36,983 feet above sea level to 2,037 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,946 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 11 miles west of TNCM Princess Juliana International Airport, Saint Martin, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 10 at TNCM Princess Juliana International Airport was from the west, heading 81.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,256 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 10 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 377 meters, which is good. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 142 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -389 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 30°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 100 degrees.
The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 5 knots. The total landing distance was 1,447 meters, which is 63% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,770 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 86 minutes. The aircraft used 11,946 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at TNCM Princess Juliana International Airport, achieving a score of 97.0%. The final approach was conducted from the west, heading 81.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,256 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 10, which has a length of 2,295 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 148 knots was also within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 377 meters was good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed of 142 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a firm touchdown rate of -389 feet per minute (fpm).
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.1 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 30°C and a wind speed of 5 knots at 100°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,447 meters was 63% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
