MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 10,034 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,358 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Overall, the aircraft landing score of 92.9% is quite impressive, indicating a strong performance during the various phases of the landing process. While there were some areas that could be improved upon, such as the Approach Phase having a poor descent path above the glideslope limit and slightly below target speed, the overall landing was still successful.
During the Landing Phase, it is worth noting that while the threshold height was slightly above target, the landing flare was excellent. This shows good control and precision during the crucial moments leading up to the touchdown. Additionally, the Touchdown Phase demonstrated solid execution with a good touchdown rate, on-target speed, and successful positioning within the touchdown zone.
It is particularly commendable that the runway touchdown position was just 17 ft from the centerline, indicating a high level of accuracy in the landing process. Despite the slightly off-center runway alignment during the Rollout Phase, the overall landing score of 92.9% reflects a strong performance with room for improvement.
Moving forward, focusing on maintaining a steady descent path within the glideslope limit, achieving target speeds throughout the landing process, and fine-tuning touchdown positioning can further enhance overall landing proficiency. Keep up the good work and continue striving for excellence in every aspect of aircraft operations. Well done on a successful landing!
