MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,253 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,976 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking to the runway at Turbat International Airport, taking approximately 2 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 08L, with a takeoff distance of 2,477 feet, which was 41% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 96 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 98°F and winds of 16 knots at 187°, resulting in a crosswind of 15 knots and a tailwind of 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southeast of Turbat, and climbed from an altitude of 1,540 feet above sea level to 30,355 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,815 feet, in 25 minutes and covering 93 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 43 miles north of Ormara Airport and lasted for 144 minutes, covering 552 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 31 miles west of Tarapur, and descended from 30,091 feet above sea level to 1,848 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,243 feet, in 20 minutes and covering 58 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport was made from the east, heading 274.0°, at 2 nautical miles and 1,760 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 9,253 feet. The threshold height was significantly above the target, and the threshold speed was excessively high at 100 knots.
The touchdown point was 253 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 77 knots, which was fast. The touchdown rate was smooth at -118 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 35 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 82°F and winds of 9 knots at 270°, resulting in a headwind of 9 knots.
The total landing distance was 2,893 feet, which was 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 36 feet from the centreline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking from the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 709 nautical miles, taking 183 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,228 pounds of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft has successfully landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, but the landing was not without its issues. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, heading 274.0° at a distance of 2 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,760 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 253 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a significant deviation from the target. The touchdown speed of 77 knots was also higher than the recommended speed, indicating that the pilot may have been unable to slow down the aircraft sufficiently before touchdown. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -118 feet per minute, which suggests that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the landing.
The threshold height at 99 feet above ground level was significantly above the target, and the threshold speed was excessively high at 100 knots. This suggests that the pilot may have been unable to establish a stable approach path, leading to the deviations in touchdown point and speed.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 35 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to the pilot's inability to maintain a straight course during the final approach. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 82°F and a headwind of 9 knots, may have also contributed to the difficulties experienced during the landing.
The total landing distance of 2,893 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 36 feet from the centreline, which may indicate that the pilot was still struggling to maintain control of the aircraft after touchdown.
Overall, while the Vision Jet aircraft was able to land safely, the landing was not without its issues, and the pilot may need to work on establishing a more stable approach path and maintaining control of the aircraft during the final stages of the landing.
