MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Preparing for a stable approach will give you time to decide on whether to attempt the landing or going around. Too much altitude with a high sink rate will result in carrying too much speed onto the runway. Configuring flaps and the gear late also won't help the speed decay.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 1,000 ft gate: centreline 2.2° off, against a 1° limit.
At the 500 ft gate: centreline 1.5° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,602 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,602 m of the 2,432 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 286 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Ontario International Airport, the Boeing 737-800 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. With runway 26L cleared for departure, the aircraft accelerated down the 1,746-meter runway, utilizing 56% of its length to achieve liftoff at a speed of 156 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 24°C, with a 10-knot wind blowing from 240°, resulting in a 5-knot crosswind and an 8-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from Ontario, it began its enroute climb, which started approximately 1 mile southeast of the airport. The climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from 1,967 feet above sea level to 35,142 feet, an increase of 33,175 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 133 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a 62-minute level cruise phase, during which it covered 496 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase began approximately 6 miles southwest of Meeker Airport, where the aircraft descended from 34,848 feet to 8,170 feet, a decrease of 26,678 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 100 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at Eagle County Regional Airport was initiated from the east, with the aircraft heading 259.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,683 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with a threshold speed of 144 knots and a touchdown distance of 280 meters, which was 63% of the runway length. Although the touchdown speed of 140 knots was slightly above the optimal value, the runway touchdown alignment was very good. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took approximately 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 737 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 111 minutes and a fuel consumption of 4,938 kilograms.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down on runway 25 at KEGE Eagle County Regional Airport with a good threshold height, allowing the crew to maintain a stable approach profile. The threshold speed of 144 kt was well within the acceptable range, indicating a well-executed approach. As the aircraft made contact with the runway, the touchdown distance of 280 m was satisfactory, but the touchdown speed of 140 kt was slightly above the recommended value, resulting in a heavy touchdown rate of -635 fpm.
Despite the slightly fast touchdown speed, the aircraft maintained excellent runway alignment, with a very good touchdown alignment on the centreline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 8 °C and a gentle tailwind of 5 kt, contributed to a smooth touchdown. The aircraft's performance was further enhanced by the absence of any significant crosswind component. As the aircraft began its rollout, it maintained perfect alignment with the runway centreline, demonstrating excellent control and coordination.
The total landing distance of 1,521 m, which accounted for 63% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, with a score of 95.6%. The crew's ability to maintain a stable approach profile, combined with the aircraft's responsive handling, resulted in a smooth and controlled touchdown.
