Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,647 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,647 ft of the 12,791 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,799 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KCHA Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (Lovell Field), taking 3 minutes to cover less than 1 nm. Departure from runway 20 was smooth, with the aircraft taking off from 2,542 ft of the 7,500 ft runway at a liftoff speed of 150 kt.
Enroute climb started one mile east of East Ridge, Tennessee, where the aircraft climbed from 1,688 ft above sea level to 25,009 ft, a vertical increase of 23,321 ft, in just 10 minutes while covering 55 nm.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft transitioned into level cruise, starting a mile north of KTHA Tullahoma Regional Airport William Northern Field Tullahoma, Tennessee. For 49 minutes, the aircraft maintained a steady altitude while covering 413 nm.
The enroute descent started five miles east of Creighton, Missouri, where the aircraft descended from 25,000 ft to 2,310 ft, a drop of 22,690 ft below the initial cruising altitude, in 15 minutes while covering 80 nm.
As the flight progressed, final approach was begun, heading south-east towards runway 31 at KFOE Topeka Regional Airport from a distance of 4 nm. The aircraft was navigating at an altitude of 1,233 ft above ground level on a heading of 317.0°.
The landing was notable, with a touchdown point significantly beyond the designated touchdown zone at 1,386 ft, and at a speed of 108 kt. The touch down speed was well within limits. However, the runway touchdown alignment deviated from the centreline by 38 ft, and the runway rollout alignment also showed a misalignment of 36 ft.
The total landing distance was 5,334 ft, taking up just 42% of the runway's 12,791 ft length. Local conditions were characterized by moderate temperature and slight winds from the north-east, with a crosswind component of 3 kt. Touchdown was at a rate of -220 fpm, considered fair according to standards.
Report on Aircraft Landing C750
On the day of the landing, aircraft C750 approached runway 31 at KFOE Topeka Regional Airport from the south east heading 317.0°, maintaining an altitude of 1,233 feet above ground level (agl) at a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft successfully landed on the runway, but some issues were observed during the landing process.
The aircraft exceeded the target threshold height by a considerable margin, landing at 81 feet agl, which is significantly above the target. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 129 knots, indicating a minor deviation. Notably, the aircraft's touchdown speed was 108 knots, which was within the acceptable range, showing that the pilot was able to manage the airspeed effectively.
During the landing process, the aircraft's touchdown point deviated from the designated landing area on the runway, located 1,386 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone. Although the touchdown speed and rate of descent were satisfactory, with -220 feet per minute being a fair result, the actual touchdown point exceeded the designated area. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was 38 feet off from the centerline, which is a relatively significant deviation.
Local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 52 °F and a wind speed of 3 knots at 51°. The crosswind was negligible at 3 knots, but there was no appreciable headwind. The total landing distance covered was 5,334 feet, accounting for 42% of the available runway length.
In addition to the misaligned touchdown point and departure from the centerline, the runway rollout alignment was also deviated by a slight margin of 36 feet from the centerline. While there were some deviations observed during the landing process, the overall performance of aircraft C750 was satisfactory, with some notable areas for improvement identified.
