MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,747 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 307 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A350-900, then departed from runway 26R at Charles de Gaulle International Airport (LFPG) in France. The takeoff distance was 1,443 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 171 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 1°C, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 249 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Roissy-en-France, and climbed from an altitude of 1,386 feet above sea level to 38,037 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,651 feet, in 27 minutes and covering a distance of 178 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 12 miles north of Saint-Coulomb, France, and lasted for 238 minutes, covering a distance of 1,793 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, this time from an altitude of 38,423 feet above sea level to 39,913 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,490 feet, in just 3 minutes and covering a distance of 25 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again, this time from a location with coordinates 36.6602464° latitude and -40.3651816° longitude, and lasted for 211 minutes, covering a distance of 1,617 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, starting 62 miles east of La Désirade Airport in Guadeloupe, and descended from an altitude of 40,080 feet above sea level to 1,296 feet above sea level, a decrease of 38,784 feet, in 22 minutes and covering a distance of 110 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 10 at Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport (TFFF) was made from the west, with a heading of 80.0°, at an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 10 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 306 meters, which is good. However, the touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 137 knots, and the touchdown rate was hard at -415 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 26°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 0 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,265 meters, which is 46% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took just 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 3,732 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 512 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 48,343 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A350-900 successfully landed at TFFF Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport, achieving a high score of 97.8%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 80.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,281 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with precision, and the aircraft landed on runway 10, which has a length of 2,747 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 137 knots. However, the touchdown speed of 136 knots was a bit faster than desired, which may have contributed to a harder touchdown rate of -415 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the touchdown distance of 306 meters was considered good.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a wind speed of 1 knot at 0°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and headwind, making the landing even smoother. The total landing distance of 1,265 meters was 46% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. Overall, the landing was executed with precision, and the aircraft came to a stop in a relatively short distance. The slight deviations from the target speeds and rates did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
